Ridiculously shameless staff, please do not visit!
I am not someone who’d write bad reviews for restaurants but this needs to be reported. I walked into this restaurant with a few of my friends last night (3 married couples and myself). One of my friends was having seconds thoughts about what he should order when his wife came up with a suggestion and had him change his mind. When he went on to place the order (of what his wife suggested), he realised that the staff member taking his order had been eavesdropping on his conversation with his wife. This staff member who’s name is Rana (from Pakistan, as he proudly stated) said to my friend, “how can you be so easily persuaded and that too by a woman?” (Important to keep in mind that my friend’s wife was standing right next to him when this was happening). My friend immediately clarified that the woman being spoken of is his wife. Rana went on and asked my friend how many wives does he have. My friend, trying to make sense of the conversation and playing it down, jokingly said that one wife is enough for any man. In reply, this guy Rana went on and said that he has 3 wives and that keeping more wives is only a sign of “Mardaangi” (urdu word synonymous to toxic masculinity), but having a wife does not mean that you should listen to her. Rana then called another staff member into the conversation and described him as a husband of four, who beats all his wives, and might also go to jail because of one of them very soon. I cannot recall the name but this other staff was from Afghanistan as per Rana.
I don’t know how such people end up in such a beautiful place like Grenoble, but their place surely seems in jail. I specifically want to highlight that even though they are using names of Indian cities to run the restaurant, they are not from India and definitely do not reflect anything about India.
The culture they come from is outrightly pitiful. I hope this was all a stupid joke from him and none of it is true or happening, but the conviction on his face when he said all of this was so visible. My friends are still in disbelief and our thoughts go out to all women in the families of those having such miserable character. It was indeed a lot of effort for us last night, to maintain our dignity while walking out of this restaurant. I say it again, please do not eat from such people and if you are from Grenoble, please spread the word as well. I will try my best to escalate this issue and bring it to the knowledge of higher authorities. Hopefully...
Read moreDear readers,
I feel compelled to share my recent experience at a restaurant that left me deeply disturbed and disappointed. Last week, during a visit to this establishment, my wife and I were subjected to an incident that I believe warrants attention.
While engaged in a private conversation, we were disheartened to discover that one of the restaurant's employees was deliberately eavesdropping on our discussion. To our astonishment, this individual made a derogatory remark, suggesting that I should not listen to my wife's suggestions simply because I am a man. When I inquired about his own marital status, he proudly proclaimed that he had three wives, and another colleague chimed in, boasting of having four wives. According to them, this was somehow indicative of their perceived "manliness."
The audacity of the restaurant owner's subsequent comments, denying any knowledge of such behavior from their employees, is truly disconcerting. I can assure you that my friend's previous comments were entirely accurate, as I was directly involved in this regrettable incident. As a busy consultant, I rarely find the time to write reviews, but the impact this experience had on my mental well-being compelled me to share my story.
It is deeply disheartening to encounter such a toxic atmosphere in France, a place that should be dedicated to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patrons. Furthermore, it is important to note that the behavior exhibited by these employees does not reflect the values or culture of India, since none of the employees were form India.
I implore you, dear readers, to consider this account before deciding to visit this restaurant. It is my hope that by shedding light on this incident, we can collectively work towards fostering a more respectful and...
Read moreI stumbled upon this gem of a fast-food joint nestled in the historic streets of Grenoble's old city, and I must say, it's a delightful find for Indian food enthusiasts!
Service here is lightning-fast, though it might come off a tad disorganized at times. However, the staff's enthusiasm compensates for any minor hiccups, making the experience quite enjoyable. The real star of the show, though, is undoubtedly the food. It's packed with authentic flavors that transport your taste buds straight to India. From aromatic curries to tantalizing spices, each dish is a testament to the chef's expertise.
Pricing is reasonable, offering decent value for the quality and quantity served. But here's a tip: visit when the streets are bustling, and snag a table outside if you can. Trust me, the lively ambiance adds an extra layer of charm to your dining experience.
Overall, if you're in the mood for tasty Indian cuisine and don't mind a bit of a hustle in service, this place is a must-visit, especially during peak hours when the street comes alive. Give it a try and savor the flavors while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of...
