Le Grain de Sel — Restaurant in Grenoble

Honestly, this is the first time that I wish there was a way to give 7 stars to a restaurant. Once we discovered it, we booked the table for the rest of our stay.

The food is magnificent, from common burger served with delicious, homemade spicy sauce through adorable classics like bœuf bourguignon or raclette to the most wonderful surprises such as grilled bone marrow. Everyday something different, everyday the food was absolutely superb.

But the restaurants are not only about food, they're also about the atmosphere. You can feel it almost instantly, for as you open a menu, you're greeted by the story about the family recipes, mastered and passed along by its various members. Yet that's not all, for the owners like to chat with guests, advising, sharing some details about the particular dishes or simply enjoying your happiness after another delightful feast.

I was seriously pondering over whether to write this review; should I keep this treasure to myself. Yet, eventually I came to a conclusion that such a gem should be shared. Hopefully, it won't be too packed next year to...

We went to this restaurant twice for dinner. The first time we didn’t have a reservation and we were lucky enough that someone else cancelled so our group of 5 could have dinner. We really enjoyed the hospitality and the amazing food (cheese fondue and raclette), so we decided to come back. The second time was just as good as the first time! Great service, good prices and delicious food....
