My four kids were at this place today and they spent 102.8 euros.. it was the time to pay and they realized they only had 100 euros .. they told the staff to come back later on but the owner together with other employees retained them like delinquents… they felt threatened by these people .. my kids called me and I try to speak with the owner to let them now that I will be there in a while to pay but the owner refused to take any calI and forced them to give their phone in exchange before they can go. I went there only 20 minutes after to pay the owed amount ($2.80) and they treated me very badly arguing that this is the way this business works … worse place ever and very bad educated people.. they do not care about customer .. only care about money… the rest of places I have been in Alpe D’Huez were fantastic with very friendly and educated people but this place is owned by people only looking for money and not to make live easier to their customer .Btw, the problem came because they ordered a bottle of water and they were charged 8.5...
Read moreThe worst restaurant/bar in the ski resort. We waited for 10-15 min, nobody came to ask what we want to drink. We had to go to ask for ordering ourselves. The price of drinks are extremely expensive!!!
The worst part: THE RESTROOM IS NOT FREE. After having paid for drinks with excessive price, they ask you to pay for going restroom. It is a scandal! And there is a guy keeping the restroom asking you for money. He told me that he is independant of the restaurant. When I tried to take a picture of the restroom price, he pushed my phone and he pushed my shoulder, I nearly dropped my phone on the floor.
Knowing that in France, it is mandatory for any restaurant/bar to have restroom for their costumers. It is illegal and really not honest! I highly recommend you to go to drink/eat in the restaurant in the opposite side of the street.
Afterwards, I learnt that there is a public FREE restroom on the opposite side of the street too.
Please do avoid this horrible place! I would never...
Read moreI honestly do not know why this place has so many bad reviews. Firstly - it's right next to the slopes and yes, this means it's going to be busy and it probably means the staff will get stressed at times. However, it's very convenient being the closest place to ski school and it's big enough to accommodate groups easily. We ate / drank here (8 adults, 8 children) at least 3 times during our week stay. We found the service to be great every time we ate here - perhaps not the quickest, but we weren't in a rush. Staff were always friendly and helpful. We also found the food to be good, although I will admit we kept to the basics (pizza, crepes, chips etc). We spent a good couple of hours here every lunch time - chilling with a few drinks. It was fantastic as it allowed some of our group to go for a run down the Signal or Marcel's farm, then meet up again for a break. We will be returning to Alpe d'huez again next year (4th year running) and I'm sure we will be eating here several...
