Restaurant la Bergerie Super Besse — Restaurant in Issoire

After a day of having a lot of fun and drinks at the bar area of La Bergerie, we decided to make a reservation for dinner.

It might of have been our fault for not checking out the menu beforehand. We assumed they would have regular meals like other restaurants.

For example burgers, pizza or other meals you would find in other restaurants or even their own fish and chips that is only available at the bar area of La Bergerie but not the restaurant area (which is weird to me).

It started off when we went down to sit there. Difficult communication as we are not fluent in French and the waiters/staff barely spoke English (except one waiter).

We saw that the menu options were very limited. They had 5 main course options and 5 entry meals (The Charcuterie plate is VERY GOOD THOUGH).

We were surprised by the lack of options on the menu and the dishes that were most likely the taste of the French person. We had a minor amongst us that didn’t like anything on the menu until we saw in the bottom right corner: Mini Burger. To which i asked the waiter if they had a mini burger for the minor to which she replied: “Yes”.

We were looking at the menu and didn’t see anything appealing. We decided to get two charcuterie boards for us (the 4 adults). When the staff came towards us they quickly asked: “You are not going to order anything after this right? You are done right?”

We didn’t feel appreciated and we got the feeling the staff was getting annoyed by our presence and our questions regarding the menu.

After we asked for more bread, we saw a waiter come up to us and try and grab the bucket. She saw that the bucket had some sauce sachets in it and her demeanor and hand waived was upset. We didn’t feel appreciated as guests.

Eventually the food came to the table. The minor got fries and a piece a ham. Apparently we all misread Petit Berger into Petit Burger. They told us they don’t sell burgers afterwards. The picture is the meal that the minor ordered and we thought was the Petite Burger (LMAO)

The minor obviously was upset and not satisfied with the meal she got. We ate the charcuterie boards and the got the check and left.

All in all would not recommend this unless you like original French dining.

Very inconsiderate and rude staff. My daughter is 4+ months pregnant. We had a reservation and arrived a bit early. We were ordered to go outside and not to come into the restaurant until the time of our booking! I explained my daughter was pregnant and it was extremely cold outside. The staff were very rude and one actually shouted at us demanding that we sit outside in the cold to wait until the time of our booking. The restaurant was empty and there were plenty of seats. Our table was vacant. It was freezing cold outside. We've been going to the restaurant for 20 years and have never experienced this sort of behaviour. I can't believe the way we were treated. Rude staff who shouted at me for sitting down on a bench. I sat on a chair instead and they shouted at me for doing that. It was cold and I have osteoporosis.

I shouted back at them and I think the staff member wanted to have an actual fight because I was sitting down and apparently that is not allowed.

This was in front of my small children.

I would urge people deciding whether to eat here to ignore the other reviews and read this one as it is the only one that counts.
