Le Bistrot Des Bonnes Femmes — Restaurant in La Rochelle

Great memories. But only that. We've been in here before. And we had great memories of the meal, the atmosphere, the wine, the service, the lot. So much so that I remember buying a voucher for the in-laws to go and try it as it was so good. But all that it's just memories. Great memories but only memories. This time, December 2018, was on the top 10 worst experience in a restaurant: 1 waiter for 35 covers, in all fairness he did his best, he run as fast as he could and tried to serve everybody swiftly. But it was impossible. Tables around us and everywhere were waiting too long for everything. In the kitchen were at least 3 people. None of them moved a finger to help the waiter. And then the food finally came out. Starter for the kids was edible, a thin slice of terrine. Just ok. The fois grass was really cold and even after waiting a while it was no seasoned well, pretty tasteless. The "chutney" served with it was old and runny. Everything was MEH! Trying to cheer us up, as there was nobody to do it for us, we remember that not only we had a good meal but our invitation to the in-laws was a great success. They loved it as much as us the first time we went. No more time for day dreaming as the mains arrived after a very long wait. The kids were getting desperate. But the disappointment continue... At first the idea of a duck burger was great. I love burgers and as I read the menu this was looking as the greatest idea: eat a burger and a different one? SOLD! But it wasn't great. Few slices of duck breast, few cherry tomatoes, lettuce, simple bun, chips were good and some salad. Here is the kicker: 18 euros for it. Needless to say, value for money was really poor. My wife's fish dish was also tasteless, no seasoning in the "risotto" and the fish was under cook. Also the kid's steak, that is how they called it but for accuracy I will call it the piece of meat, was under cooked, tough, we couldn't cut it and obviously they couldn't eat it.

While we were having a meal there was an incident with another table they were trying to deal with. I don't really know what happen to them or with them. But I was so happy that it wasn't our table the one with the issue this time, apart from the fact that they work really hard convincing us through our meal to never go back there, as they deal with it really poorly.

I got up and pay. We all agreed that we wanted to get out really quickly. No desert for the kids. No having a look to the dessert menu. No coffee. Just out. I'm guessing we were trying to hold on to memories. And a great meal is only that; great memories. Made by so many thing and two of those things are: food and service. We didn't get those this time. So we walked out with our first round of memories of this place....

Le vendredi 10/05 précisément en soirée dans ce restaurant, à deux, nous étions, en tant que clients, eh ben, j'ai regretté ce choix. L'accueil exécrable en raison d'un sentiment subjectif lié encore une fois à un raisonnement très court. Le Mr pas très accueillant a estimé d'après son comportement qu'il n'était pas possible pour Mme et moi de profiter de son service. Mr ne voulait pas qu'on mette nos trolleys sur son patio puisque selon lui, il n'y avait pas de places. Il n'en était autrement. Jusque là, j'étais patient et ce n'est pas à lui de décider où il faut que je dépense mon argent en vacances. Le traitement a été très différent à l'égard du groupe à côté. Ça , je ne vais pas en tenir compte puisque encore une fois, des cons il y en a partout. J'arrive avec Mme à la caisse, ma carte ne passe pas au premier essai en raison d'un dépassement de plafond, je l'annonce respectueusement et Mr me répond que celà ne s'affiche pas. Juste 87€! 🤣 Rire! Le comble! Mme règle la note. Cette interjection n'a pas lieu d'être à l'égard d'un client. Je n'avais même pas à me justifier. C'est par courtoisie et oui, les bonnes manières. Encore une fois, les cons il y en a partout. Et tout au long de mon séjour à la Rochelle, effectivement, on ne rencontre pas des cons partout tout au long de sa journée. Sinon, éreinté l'on serait. Sur le Mets et les vins, je n'ai pas envie de me prononcer. Cette expérience ne m'a pas encouragé à y retourner tout au long mon séjour. Du courage à vous dans votre petit monde. Esprit...

J'ai récemment eu l'occasion de visiter le Bistrot des Bonnes Femmes à La Rochelle et je suis ravi de pouvoir vous donner mon avis. Dès mon arrivée, j'ai été agréablement surpris par la gentillesse du personnel. Ils étaient chaleureux, accueillants et se sont assurés que nous nous sentions à l'aise tout au long de notre repas.

En ce qui concerne les plats, j'ai été extrêmement satisfait de la simplicité et de l'exécution impeccable. Les plats étaient préparés avec soin, mettant en valeur des ingrédients frais et de qualité. Chaque bouchée était un délice et il était évident que beaucoup d'attention avait été portée à la préparation des plats.

Mon moment passé au Bistrot des Bonnes Femmes en compagnie de mes frères était excellent. Nous avons passé un bon moment et avons été impressionnés par l'atmosphère conviviale et détendue du restaurant. Le personnel nous a fait sentir comme chez nous, et cela a vraiment contribué à rendre notre expérience encore plus agréable.

Dans l'ensemble, je recommande vivement le Bistrot des Bonnes Femmes à La Rochelle. Vous serez sûrs d'y trouver un personnel gentil et attentionné, ainsi que des plats simples mais délicieux, préparés avec savoir-faire. Que ce soit pour un repas en famille, entre amis ou même en tête-à-tête, vous passerez sans aucun doute un excellent moment dans ce bistrot.
