Superb meal at this gorgeous restaurant, made even better by fantastic service and welcoming staff (the maître d even let us bring our small dog). The food was exquisite - my egg parfait really was perfect, and my husband's oysters came with two different seasoning spices as well as shallots in vinegar; the veal was excellent and the desserts (chocolate fondant and caramelised French toast) were both lip-smackingly delicious too. The potato dauphinois deserves a sentence all to itself as it was easily the best version of this dish I've ever tasted: wafer-thin potatoes baked in cream with exactly the right amount of pepper: sublime. Our waitress was delightful, asking us if we wanted to order in French or English (her English was fantastic) and opening the bottles at our table for wine we'd ordered by the glass, as well as bringing the Armagnac bottle to show us: a nice touch that we appreciated. It’s always a joy when one unexpectedly finds a little gem of a restaurant in a busy street full of rival businesses. This restaurant looks quite restrained from the outside but we were tempted inside by the nice looking patio on a warm September evening. We received a warm reception on arrival and our friendly server was helpful and efficient throughout the evening. The menu was full of inviting dishes which made a final selection quite difficult but everything was fresh, tasty and well-presented. I had dinner with my fiancée and nine month old daughter here a couple of days ago and both the food and the service was outstanding. Our waiter Gael made excellent suggestions for wine with the food and really went above and beyond in taking care of our family. We had had a formule with tartin and chèvre for starter and filet mignong for main and both were delicious. Two glasses of wine each are also included in the price calculation.
