We went to dinner with a group of 9 people. Upon arrival we were seated at our reserved table and handed the menu cards. Some of us (4 person) decided to ask for mojitos but when ordering the waitress told us it would take a lot of time to prepare those and she advised to ordered something else. This reaction caught us a little by surprise, but we decided as requested to change our mojito into something else. Amongst other things we then ordered some water, beer and homemade cocktails.

It was very clear that the waitress didn't enjoy her shift that evening since she didn't smile at all and was rather blunt in every interaction. This didn't improve when the evening went on.

The water arrived quick but for our other drinks we had to wait a while. Unfortunately, the water hadn't been cooled before serving. The restaurant now started to fill with more people and the waiting time started to rise. This trend continued till all tables were filled in. In my opinion more, staff would have helped a lot to improve the fluidity of the service.

When we finally received our drinks, we also ordered our food. We ordered our first dish and as main course 7 of us decided to take the Steak and 2 decided to take the cod.

We raised our glass to celebrate the evening only to notice that also the beer had not been cooled sufficiently. The glasses we received to pour the beer into were also not cleaned well. The homemade cocktails were not made fresh, but the cocktail glass was filled with a ladle from a big pre-made bucket.

After waiting some more we received our first course and we ordered some additional red wine. The red wine was brought to use but like the beer and the water it was above serving temperature. At this point our table got more and more saturated with empty bottles and glasses. The beer bottles from round 1, the empty wine bottles of round 1 as well as the glasses from the cocktails all remained on the table. We even put them aside to be taken away, but the staff never picked them up until after we left.

When we finished our first course and the staff started to take away the plates (not the empty glasses our bottles) the waitress who had been serving us all evening informed us they only had 1 steak left but 7 of us ordered the steak. This meant 6 people had to choose another dish from the menu. Disappointed with the fact that they we're out of steak and the fact she only told us after our first course we decided to take 6x the lamb.

When it was finally time for us to receive our main dish, it didn't come all together. There was a fair amount of time between the first person receiving his plate and the last one. We also noticed that the table sitting behind us which arrived and ordered later did receive 4 steaks whereas we were asked during our first course to change. First come first served I would think but apparently this was not the case for us. The 1 steak we did receive was prepared perfectly but we received the wrong sauce. After telling the waitress about this she went back to the kitchen only to arrive 5 minutes later again with the same wrong sauce we already had. The lamb which was chosen as substitute for the steak was overcooked and tasted more like sheep than lamb. The potatoes which accompanied the lamb we're also cooked for way too long and lost all taste. The cod however was a big success.

The diner was accompanied by some music. The music itself was nice but the volume was very high making it hard to understand even your neighbor. The fact the person sitting next to us decided to smoke all evening was not appreciated.

A positive thing to add, the location and view of the restaurant are very nice!

At the end of the evening the chef did come out and apologized for the fact that they didn't have enough steak and the lamb was overdone. He then offered us some free limoncello. this gesture was very much...

Dieses Restaurant ist ein Gefühl..... Zum ersten Mal in Ruoms unterwegs, einfach so und ohne Ziel. Wir parkten und wurden von wunderschönen kleinen Gassen und der Kirche begrüßt. Einige Zeit später fanden wir uns in der lebhaften Einkaufsstraße wieder. Als wir diese mit den Kindern durch hatten, suchte ich die Ruhe und wählte als Rückweg eine ruhige Parallelstrasse, raus aus dem Tumult. Als ob das so sein sollte. Denn....wer französische Filme liebt, weiß was ich meine. Ein Alt anmutendes Schild und links davon Rosensträucher... Hier soll ein Restaurant sein? Aber wo? Auf dem Schild kann ich mit meinem Schulfranzösisch entziffern, dass es einen Rosengarten gibt. Ich musste diesem Pfad einfach folgen, meine Sinne waren geweckt, Rosenduft, liebevoll beschriebene Schildchen schmückten diesen Weg. Es war wie ein Zauber. Meine Familie völlig vergessen, stand ich plötzlich an einer sehr alten Holzbank, die zum pausieren einlud. Holztreppen die aufwärts zu einer Art Pavillon führten. Bevor ich drüber nachdenken konnte, ob ich überhaupt diesen Bereich betreten darf, stand ich bereits oben, sprachlos und vollends verzückt. Diese Aussicht, diese Felder drumherum, dieser Charme. Und tatsächlich, es befanden sich gedeckte Tische auf der Veranda und ich wurde plötzlich vom Herrn des Hauses freundlich begrüßt. Mir wurde bestätigt, dass man hier essen könne und Freitags sogar live Musik gespielt wird und die Menükarte offenbart. Der Wahnsinn, wir reservierten sofort für den kommenden Freitag. Dieser ist nun schon erlebt und es war ein Erlebnis. Die Kinder spielten so glücklich und satt in den umliegenden Rosenfeldern (gerne Lampen für die Kids mitnehmen, alle saßen mit ihren Lichtern im Feld zusammen und hatten wahnsinnigen Spaß, während die Eltern der Musik lauschen konnten). Das Essen war super lecker und was ganz neues für die Geschmacksnerven. Der Mojito war gefährlich lecker. Der hauseigene Apfelsaft der Hit. Der Sonnenuntergang/Ausblick .... die Blumen und Pflanzen, die freilaufenden Hühner, die Eigentümer, der Service.... Danke. Danke für den perfekten Abend voller Sinnesexplosionen an diesem fast geheimen Ort. Zusatz :Kartenzahlung möglich, vegetarisches Essen möglich, freilaufende Kinder...

Ma foi moi qui croyait passé une bonne soiree au vue des commentaires... acceuil inexistant... on a du se mettre devant la femme derrière son comptoir pour demander une table, pas un bonjour... asseyez vous la bas... ça commence fort... un serveur déplorable avec masque sous le menton, qui revient vous voir car il a oublié 10min plus tard, pourtant il noté sur papier... cette magnifique terrasse soi disant, en théorie seulement, chaque pas dune personne fait trembler toute la terrasse avec un bruit de sabot de cheval, au début ça va, à la longue c chiant clairement , puis un peu de musique dambiance serai agreable et surtout mais surtout de la lumiere, on voit plus rien passé 21h...aucune déco on dirai une cantine, l'équipe du resto se sont engueuler en plein service... ont accepter des gens sans réservation et ont refusé un groupe de 10personnes qui avait lui réservé, un scandale car a 20h30 trouvé un resto pour 10 c mission impossible... revenons à moi... attente très longue pour la suite du menu... ben en fait après avoir débarrassé l'entrée le serveur croyait qu'on avait fini.... il nous a oublié...et pour le dessert que ma femme voulait prendre, on attend a la table a côté que le serveur annonce qu'il ne font pas ce soir tel ou tel dessert... sympa de le dire car sinon on aurai pas prit le menu avec dessert qui est à 30e... du coup on a annulé la suite du repas et payé que les entrée et menu enfant... et même a ce prix là, ça vaut pas le coup du tout... 17e une salade avec 3 saint Jacques et 2 crevette, oui je vous jure... Le cadre est sympa oui mais regardez le de loin et oubliez ce resto qui n'est...
