Le Grignot — Restaurant in Le Havre

I had a bad experience at Le Grignot restaurant during my recent trip to Le Harve. Although the restaurant is quite famous and crowded, my experience was very bad. The service staff is not friendly, even though the price is not cheap. We were constantly asked "are you finished eating?" when they saw us stop eating and talking. it's worth mentioning that we were the only ones asked, maybe we were racially discriminated against because we were the only two Asians at the restaurant at that time. The other French/French speaking tables were not rushed at all and were very comfortable talking while eating. We were asked 3 times, each time 5 minutes apart by the service staff with a rather unpleasant attitude. And in the end we had to finish the meal very quickly because we were so uncomfortable with the staff's dismissive attitude. This was my worst experience in France and I will never...

From the outside the restaurant looks impressive, but once inside and the meal arrives, you quickly realize you are in a fast food joint. The service is ‘quick in and out’.The food, well, I had the ‘bass with bean’ and my wife had the carbonara. If you like your green beans tasteless and mushy, then you have found heaven. The carbonara was drowning in sauce with mounds of salty bacon. It was supposed to have walnuts, but I feel not even CPR would bring these walnuts back from the depths of the sauce. Gone for lunch with my wife and children 01/08/2018. Service okay but kitchen too fast. Didn't have the time to finish the apetitif for tasting the wine. And the courses where on the table before we knew. Children menu says chicken filet, in fact it is a half non chewable chicken, steak haché medium comes almost raw, mashed potatos too salt. Lunch menu: non chewable steak, also had to ask for a steak knife. Salmon was fried 2 minutes so raw inside. Vegetables? Half a cherry tomato!
