ITO RAMEN — Restaurant in Lille

I went there with a friend for dinner on a Saturday evening. I ordered the vegetable gyozas as a starter (not much to say on these, not great but not terrible). The ramen arrived not long after, my friend had a meat ramen whilst I ordered the seafood one. Waiter brought over the meat ramen over and a gyoza ramen (not what I ordered so I sent it back.). They brought over another bowl of ramen 10 minutes later (still the wrong ramen so I sent it back again). At that point my friend has finished his bowl and I haven't gotten the correct bowl yet. Once it finally arrives with the correct toppings, the ramen is not great, the broth is not very tasty (shame when you're eating ramen...), quite disappointing after a 30 minutes wait. I asked for a discount on my meal at the till but they simply refused and told me to pay the full price and to stop complaining.

Only positive note for this restaurant would be the decor, it actually...

We went here for dinner because I was craving for some ramen. We were there around 18:35. The store opened 18:30, so we did not need to make any reservation then and were seated right away. Just about 40 after the shop was full with customers, so maybe if you could make reservation in case you dine there, just in case.

Me and my boyfriend both ordered shoyu ramen and takoyaki to share. We both enjoy the ramen, the flavor was really nice. My boyfriend did mention about the portion was quite small then he expected. However, I think it was ok regarding to its price €13.50. We usually have to pay €18-€20 for a bowl of ramen in the Netherlands so.

We also like the takoyaki, the bonito flakes was "dancing" on the top of the takoyaki so maybe it was fresh shaven. That was some good side the food freshly prepared.

Pour plusieurs raisons je ne retournerai pas à ITO Ramen.

1 - Le service se fait parfois désirer, au bout de 20mins d'attente pour qu'on vienne prendre nos desserts en commande (on a dû les appeler plusieurs fois), j'ai eu le temps de digérer pour reprendre un autre ramen si je le voulais, et je les voyais se tourner un peu les pouces. L'endroit n'est pas très spacieux, ce n'est pas blindé de monde, donc je ne comprends pas comment on peut oublier une table de 6 personnes juste devant vous pendant 20mins, ça a été mon gros bémol qui m'a gâché un peu mon expérience là bas. D'autant plus qu'un de mes amis a fait plusieurs tentatives pour appeler quelqu'un et s'est pris des vents.

2 - Les faibles portions. Contrairement à d'autres restaurants dans lesquels je suis allé, les portions d'ITO Ramen sont faibles comparé à Maison Ramen ou Ginza (exemple : bols de ramen plus petit, les takoyakis et les gyozas 2x plus petits). Je suis resté sur ma faim, chose que je n'aime pas quand je sors d'un restaurant. Ce qui me fait aussi dire que le prix me parait un peu trop cher pour les petites portions qu'on nous donne, pour le même prix j'aurais eu le ventre plein chez les 2 autres enseignes que j'ai cité plus haut.

3 - Quasi rien d'original en terme de boissons, j'aurais au moins aimé retrouver des mocktails par exemple, c'est souvent mon petit plaisir, chose qu'on voit quasi partout habituellement. Là c'était surtout des bouteilles/canettes qu'on pourrait s'acheter soi-même en supermarché.
