Les Casseroles Lilloises, Bistrot de copains! — Restaurant in Lille

The experience started pleasantly. We were welcomed very friendly by the staff present. We also liked the food and wine we chose.

Unfortunately, this so far pleasant experience ended with a downer. We had booked a slot online from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM via the restaurant's reservation system. We kept an eye on this. With fifteen minutes to go, I was enjoying my final cup of tea, we were kindly, but also urgently asked, if I did not want to finish my drink on the terrace. The following customers had already presented themselves (too early) and they apparently needed the table. I indicated that I would not need more than a minute, but the waiter indicated again that the table was needed for the next customers. My wife commented that it was strange that we had to leave when our slot had not yet come to an end, for that reason.

As compensation, the waiter offered us a digestif at the bar. I think they could have offered this better to the newly arrived customer. Not even a minute later, during this little discussion, I had already finished my tea after which we left unfortunately somewhat...

This is the most horrendous restaurant I have ever been to. Do not go here. It is bad from the very beginning, the bread is as hard as bones. If you can't get a baguette right when in France then trust me the rest to follow will be the worst meal of your life. My family all had different meals, the steak and shallots, the meat itself was absolutely awful, so fatty and chewy and not cooked in the way asked. The beef bourguigon, it was served cold and when we asked for them to warm it and it was literally put in a microwave and given us back. Thus making the meat even chewier and nasty than it was before. The fries, disgusting! Clearly with oil that has been repeatedly used! The Salmon was horrific, it was dry and tasteless. The mash was cauliflower and looked like vomit on a plate. And as for the asparagus it looked like it had been grilled all day! I do not recommend even if you are desperate...

Incredibly disappointing meal after looking forward to it for a long time. The reviews and the menu make it sound much better than we actually received. The beef bourguignon was nearly all gristle - any meat that was there was very tough (see accompanying images - that was all inedible). It was served barely warm, tepid perhaps. We ordered a side of fries for the table, the waiter took this to mean that we did not want the potato puree that should have been served with the beef dish. Was not rectified.
