I called this restaurant today asking if they could accommodate a take out order. In French, I asked if he (the person on the phone) spoke English to assist in the process of communication.
The rude gentleman answering the phone (maybe the owner based on all of the negative comments from other people ) asked why I wanted to know if he spoke English. What a dumb question considering that tourists come to this town and some do not speak French fluently or have a harder time communicating in French.
After attempting to explain and talk to him for 2 minutes in French and asking whether they do take out and which items could be requested as take-out, he suddenly switched to English and asked me if I now prefer that he "speak in English".
This was a very ill-educated, unprofessional and rude individual and if the service is like this for someone making an inquiry over the phone, I can only imagine the nasty attitude the customers and staff would have to experience under this person. We are a large group so we have taken our business to another restaurant where having asked this question, they were professional and courteous in their reply. I hope the locals and others realize that businesses like this should not get...
Read moreWe tried this restaurant and it was simply great. First of all, do not look at the prices. The average price is still affordable and just. You are served by smiling staff members, who despite the busy night tries their best to care for their clients. It started with a local rillette made with tuna and crab and served with the drinks for free. We ordered the gambas risotto and it was creamy well cooked and I loved it. Normally i do not like pesto but in this plate, everything was well balanced. The prawns were cleaned and deveined with the tails still on to preserve the taste. I couldn't taste the pizza myself but it was all very good. So, if you are looking for a comfy stylish restaurant a few metres from the beach, try The Sultana! It is totally worth the price! Do not hesitate to ask questions and report any misfortunes on the spot because they are ready to help you and make sure your experience is exceptional! I recommend and advise not to rely on negative feedbacks because everyone cannot be pleased. However, we had a wonderful meal and...
