LOCATION||Great location, 5 minutes’ walk to the beach, 10 mins to Super Market, and 20 mins to Carnac town. Quiet suburban area.||Easy to get onto main highway to drive to Golf De Morbhian and Quiberon peninsular.||ACCOMODATION & CAMP||We booked via a newspaper promotion and as such our accommodation was allocated to us. We ended up with a “Classic XL|2 Bedrooms|Sleeps 4-6|Covered Decking and were on pitch. There were just 2 adults in our party, I think it would feel a bit cramped with 6 people.||The caravan was simple and clean with a well-equipped kitchen (had a hob, but no oven). Enough for our needs as we weren't really in the caravan much as we were either out walking, or out on the deck in the great weather. We did not have a BBQ (as expected), though similar accommodation had them. There was plenty of hot water and the shower was powerful enough.||The caravans are quite close together and parking is a bit tight. I like the way the pitches were arranged in "streets" off of the main thoroughfare. The streets are blocked at one end so there is no through traffic making it quieter and safer for children playing. The camp is very clean and well attended to with nice greenery.||FACILITIES/SERVICE||We didn't use any of the facilities as we just used it as a base to explore the area. But the pool and play areas looked nice. The front of house staff were friendly and professional and spoke great English when my French was lacking! ||From what we could hear of the entertainment, it was a bit more imaginative than the bingo we get in The UK, with general knowledge quizzes, pop music quizzes and dance competitions. I think we were there slightly out of season and therefore entertainment was only on a couple of nights during the week, but didn’t bother us as that was not what we are into.||Overall, a nice atmosphere and great location.||WOULD I...
Read moreJust returned from a week at Les Menhirs and on the whole it was a good stay. The location is excellent, about a 5 mins walk to the beach and 10 mins to the centre. The pool is a little bit on the small side and was always really busy, the kids loved the waterslides, 3 really good ones. The entertainment team are really good with the kids but again the seating area at the stage is small so unless you turn up early you won’t get a seat to view the stage, we were also told they only had 1 high chair available so our 1 year old had to eat on our knee. The food available is really nice, I recommend the steak pizza & 4 cheese pizza just under €15 and Beer is around €7 a pint. |The negative for me is the accommodation, we stayed in number 244 and although it was clean and tidy the shower was awful, only had 2 warm showers all week and it had no power at all. There’s a massive tree about the caravan so we couldn’t sleep for 2 nights because of the branches hitting the caravan and the opposite one had its awning flapping around. Then every time we turned the tap on in the kitchen the smell of gas was really strong, we told reception and they came and turned the gas off, later someone came and turned it back on but the smell remained. The last thing is the gates close and don’t open until 7am or whatever so this morning at 5am we had to carry a 4 & 1 year old all the way to the exit where we had to leave the car the night before so we could leave to catch our flight, surely you could get a sensor for cars leaving the site. |It’s a shame cause with a little bit of TLC this site could be amazing, as other reviews have said it seems to be a case of just money making without spending anything on jobs which need to be done. |Couple of pictures showing the lack of power in the shower and the caravan with...
Read moreThis was our first family experience to a eurocamp and it won’t be the last. We’re a family of 2 adults and a 5 year old child. We’ve never been on a camping holiday before and I have to confess, I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to holidays, but I was genuinely impressed with this campsite. |We were really impressed with the facilities on offer at the campsite; the pool, waterslides and bar areas in particular were firm favourites. There was always space around the pool to relax, the area was clean and well maintained. The bar has been designed that if you want to join in with the entertainment there’s space, but there is also comfortable seating behind the bar away from the stage if you don’t want to be in the thick of the entertainment. ||The location was fantastic, a short walk to Carnac beach and the town. Carnac is soooooo beautiful, with two distinct areas (the more traditional part of the town and the beach area), there was something for us all. ||We were impressed with the accommodation, which was nicely designed and well equipped with air conditioning, dishwasher, and all that you need for a self catering stay. We purchased the bedding and towel hire which took the pressure off having to travel with these items. Our only negative was the size of the deck, it would have been nice to have more space with separate eating and lounging areas, now that we have experienced the accommodation we will book a bigger lodge next time to allow for this. ||Overall it was a lovely family focused break at a really...
