Tonight I booked a reservation through “the fork” (ou “la fourchette” en français) and the offer was -40% off the “a la carte” menu. We had a average dinner (ok burger for 14€) and a glass of wine. When we finished our meals and tried to paid the waiter asked if we knew how our discount worked. I responded yes and should him the reservation. He rudely laughed and said it would be “to easy” like this and that we had to buy a combination of entree+plat or play+desert. I should him my phone and said that’s not what his screen says. We then continued a conversation in which I was insulted for my level of French, informed that in France “we only speak French” and it’s not my problem if there is a bad translation, and that menu=menu in French to English... In this conversation he informed me he didn’t care what I said or did that nothing would change because his screen was correct. He didn’t care about the respect of the consumer or the reputation of the restaurant. In this conversation I felt humiliated as if I was stupid and did understand something that I agreed to... I highly don’t recommend to giving your 15€ for a average burger that you could get on the premium menu of McDonald’s and have the chance to be disrespected as I was...
