No dairy milk alternatives. It might be a political, cultural or ethical choice - but I'm here to challenge it. Couldn't enjoy my breakfast because I can't drink milk without feeling sick.
In response to the owner's kind response to my review, I will add a few things. Their words confirm that for them it's a matter of identity (and so a cultural choice). I appreciate their argument and agree with it, as I am a producer myself and get lots of customers who try to change my business to please their needs. Each of us play our role. As a producer, I select the customers that understand my ethos and identity, and I am lucky that there are enough around. Same for St. Paul's bakery, they have enough customers who are aligned with their culture. It's their role to push me away and my role to give them feedback in a way they are forced to listen to. To each their own. Thanks for the great work you do. Shame I am now physiologically able...
Read moreFood & coffee was good. I was overcharged and had no idea. They informed me and said it was because they thought I got a whole lot of a product instead of the one I got (I had a small bag) so they will pay me back in coins.

Usually never faced over charging issues in bakeries/coffee shops; most customers leave without receipts. Would be wary around pricing & double check.
Replying to owner: FYI- Stop bringing in language as a barrier, this is not everyone's first time speaking a different language in another country. Tourists usually travel to many countries who do not speak the native language. Kindness has...
Read moreWe loved Boulangerie Saint Paul, recommended by the front desk at our hotel. It was excellent advice. Each morning, I had two coffees and one pain aux raisins. And a bite of my companion's croissant. And a bichon citron. Maybe a little bite of my companion's tarte tatin. And on our last day, we also grabbed sandwiches for our train to Paris (a good move - recommended). Those pains aux raisins haunt me. Will I find one as good in SF? I just don't believe it's possible. Also, the staff are lovely humans, and they do a crisp business, so either time your English speaking after the rush from the train (across the street) or speak better French than I do. The absolute best. Thank you for making our...
