The service I received isn't adequate to its price and reputation, especially when it is associated with the name Bocuse, in Lyon, the capital of gastronomy. Don't expect to have parking space if you come with car although you can try parking near the cinema which is 10 mins walk away. It seems they care more about having as many customers than being able to provide top quality service. The restaurant was packed and noisy, lucky we were near the bar so we were able to have a conversation. I heard the table next to us who was complaining about the service speed and the response was that they were short of staff.(how can an establishment like this can be short of Staff during the festival period, when they suppose to make the most money during the year?) The food we had also arrived late and overcooked under heating light. At the end, when I asked for the bill, it came in much faster than the food...and obviously we didn't pay any less for a poorer service and food quality. If you look for a more personal experience with great attention to detail, this might not be the...
Read moreI hate to leave this second review since our lunch the day before was amazing and I gave it a 5 star review on my FB page since I loved the salmon and my daughter had the same feeling for the risotto. Unfortunately the next day we went for my daughters birthday dinner, to say the least we were both excited especially having a high top table view of the kitchen. I pointed out how everything was looked at and reviewed prior to serving. Her pork tenderloin was great however my salmon was very over cooked and crispy so I sent it back. A restaurant at this level should not be chintzy about returns and take criticism and learn from it. The salmon was over cooked and obviously had not been inspected prior to serving. I say shame on the chef and shame on the restaurant for charging me for something that was not eaten. Very poor judgement from an establishment that I initially raved about and highly recommended and walked away lighter in the wallet without...
Read moreI have dined at fine restaurants across USA, and Europe, this was among the worst I have experienced. We ordered a Caeser and an 'ancienne' tomato salad. Tomatoes were great, Caesar tasted at best, ordinary, dressing tasted bottled, some lettuce was brown, no anchovies, tasteless chicken we did not order. I ordered a Martini, I doubt that one had ever been assembled in their bar. We ordered wine, returned twice, I had a Bordeaux, €20, pricy at €10. And I have many years experience with French and California wines, I would never serve this vintage. I will never understand the reviews I read about this restaurant, it's nothing but a food factory, totally unacceptable, especially for Lyon. We complained to the maitre d'hote, all he could do was argue about our criticism, I doubt he has any idea about great food, properly prepared and served. I could actually introduce him to the French Laundry, but I doubt he knows even one three star Michelin restaurant, I...
