Warning to all food enthusiasts in Lyon! I recently had the most appalling experience at a so-called Indian restaurant that I feel compelled to share. As an Indian living in Lyon, I decided to indulge in some comfort food and chose a restaurant, unknowingly setting the stage for a culinary nightmare.
I ordered the classic Palak Paneer, and to my horror, there was a severe lack of paneer, and the palak itself was undercooked with a foul odor. It left me questioning the authenticity of the ingredients and wondering if the chef had any understanding of Indian cuisine. My friend's Chicken Curry was no better – it lacked salt, flavor, and any semblance of what a decent curry should taste like.
Not only did the culinary experience leave much to be desired, but the overall ambiance of the restaurant was equally deplorable. The atmosphere was tainted with an unsettling aura, and the cleanliness of the place was shockingly subpar.
Upon complaining to the owner, expecting at least a hint of accountability, I was met with an absurd response claiming that all their customers supposedly enjoy their food this way. It was clear that the owner had no intention of admitting to any mistake or addressing the poor quality of the dishes.
I cannot stress this enough – avoid this restaurant at all costs! As an Indian, I feel a sense of responsibility to warn my fellow compatriots and people of other nationalities to steer clear of this establishment. It's disheartening to see a restaurant tarnish the reputation of Indian cuisine in Lyon.

Read moreThis place was such a disappointment. I think that we really fell for a tourist trap here. When we came in they seated us and gave us menus, for our party of 5. We called one of the "waiters" over so we could order appetizers. One of the women from our group ordered and immediately the waiter started to get annoyed and denied what she was saying, and said that we had to order everything at once. She then repeated herself at least 5 times before the man finally let her have just the appetizers. Then we got our samosas. They tasted like they were store-bought and reheated. Then we ordered food. When the waiter brought out the food, he didn't bring out enough plates for our party of 5. When we asked him for more he counted our 3 dishes and gave us 1 plate. I don't understand that math, but that's what he did. Then we began eating and the food was disgusting. Overall if the service had been better they would've gotten a better rating, but they had HORRIBLE service...
Read moreI had the most beautiful last night in Lyon here on a girls trip. Already before we entered the restaurant a woman advised for us to eat there and I am glad we listened to her. The food was very delicious and had such an authentic taste. It was such a nice atmosphere. Me and my girls felt right at home. The best part was the waitress who was very nice and charming and gave very good recommendations. Before we left we engaged in a longer and open conversation with her and it was beautiful. She shared so much wisdom with us and was so motivational and had one girl even in tears. I absolutely know where to eat when I go back to Lyon. C'ant wait to taste that...
