L'Espace Brasserie — Restaurant in Lyon

Let us start with the good bit as it is very short. Credit where credit is deserved : good quality food and very nice looking restaurant with a clean(ISH) toilet. Now, for the negative feedback. The only way to describe the service "Abominable" ! We were served 25 minutes after arriving. There were two tables that were occupied after us but were served way before us. The only reason I can understand for this is that we had reserved through La Fourchette. The Entrée was good, Salmon with lime and coconut milk. The main course took longer again : The risotto with Gambas. They forgot my order and served everyone else before me. My dish came around 10 minutes later and you could clearly see the difference between a normal dish and a "La fourchette" Dish. My dish was rich and had a lot of meat but the same dish of my wife had one single piece of Gambas (no joke) ! For 20 something Euros, one small (no king prawns here) piece of prawn, maybe 2 pieces of Saint Jacques and some curry served with risotto rice is not justified in any way. Again, the taste was good ! But, the time and mistakes in our order, the bad service and the clear difference in the level of service for pepopke booking through a special site, makes this a bad experience, not deserving more...

Very attentive and rapid service. Staff were friendly and warm, yet reserved. I ordered a la carte and was given recommendations for each course. I’m so grateful I followed the recommendations. Everything was excellent: beautifully presented, very fresh and flavorful. I started with the green salad with lardons and poached egg, then the quenelle of pike with lobster sauce over rice, then the praline tart with lime sorbet for dessert… all classic dishes of Lyon. The restaurant itself was comfortable and elegant....

Our first meal in Lyon and we weren't impressed. We both got the steak with bearnaise sauce. The meat wasn't cooked right and it was tough as leather. I'm shocked the restaurant served us this steak. The only thing good was the french fries. The service was not good and not once did the male server ask us if everything was alright until he came to clear the dishes. They charged us for both steaks even though the waiter said he would only charge for one. I would avoid this...
