L'Artchimiste — Restaurant in Lyon

One of the best bars I've attended to in Lyon if you're looking for cocktails or gin and tonic. They have quite a large and diverse selection of liquor to try, specially for gins where they have every category covered from floral, herbal to fruity. They also have a good selection of Rhum although did not tried is as much so far. The cocktails and mocktails are really well made and quite unique, changing from time to time. Good variety of spirits, but unfortunately there was no real „artisan cocktail“. The cocktails are prepared including kind of proprietary pre-mixed solutions, which resulted in a good taste. The team present was not really capable of mastering the cocktail mixture with creativity and sensitivity, so ordering a cocktail from scratch based on preference which was not in the menu seemed not possible. Despite the bartender the team appeared to be without passion and sense of service, rather waiting to finish their shift. The interior was nicely decorated and cozy. As an importer of spirits I have been to many cocktail bars. Normally I do not review because they tend to be as advertised. This one is special -at least in that sense. It is how you would fear a French cocktail bar: stuck up and rude. After leaving my order the scruffy looking bar person left me standing there for 10 minutes. After I was escorted to my place next to the door. The waitress asked my order again as the bartender forgot. Not a funny...
