Mima – Pizzeria & Cuisine Italienne — Restaurant in Lyon

Outstanding.

We wandered randomly into MIMA without a reservation after having been turned away by several other places nearby – a delicious accident, since we later sampled a few of the other local places and they could not hold a candle to it. Sasha, our waiter, took excellent care of us all night, and made us feel wonderfully welcome and looked after. He was also able to support our somewhat limited French with an exceptional grasp of English that helped us to relax no end on the first day of our trip.

The food was exceptional. A particular highlight, and if you’re reading reviews, you’ve already seen a picture of this, was the star shaped sourdough pizza (each point of the star is filled with a different content – I strongly recommend it). We’re no strangers to sourdough but have never before found it so soft and digestible. The pasta and seafood were similarly appetizing. Even things I’ve usually been disappointed by at other restaurants, like octopus, stood out as being exceptionally well cooked.

Overall, we found MIMA to be one of the best restaurants we sampled in Lyon, and certainly the best value for money. If you’re a fan of Italian food, definitely...

Never again. Didn’t like the first dish, the waitress took it away but I had to pay for it. Took a pizza and burrata tasting, extremely average.

The final strawberry gelato tasted like flavourless icee (glace pilée).

I was surprised to see that I had to pay for the returned dish. But the woman bartender/manager said condescendingly that it’s impossible to return any dishes without paying and mocked me for making such a request. She insinuated that I make a habit out of taking free meals. If that were the case I wouldn’t have even wanted to pay for the 2 other very average dishes at a premium price.

Attention équipe qui ne se soucie pas du tout de la satisfaction du client mais seulement de son porte monnaie. Et vous avez plutôt intérêt à être en accord avec l'assaisonnement des cuisines (qui pour mon plat était si salé qu'inmangeable) et comme j'ai osé demander autre chose, j'ai eu le droit à une soupe à la grimace par une des serveuse jusqu'à la fin, un autre plat (gnocchis natures 18€) et mon premier plat pour qui il manquait un coup de fourchette a 9€, un menu enfant incomplet et bien-sûr nous sommes les seuls fautifs de tout ça ! (Je n'avais qu'à réclamer ce qu'il manquait pour le menu enfant et ramener chez moi ce que je n'ai pas aimé car 90% de la salle adore ce plat sois disant). Inadmissible, incroyable, du jamais vu... Un rapport qualité-prix qui n'est absolument pas au rendez-vous mais qui de plus est, n'est en rien rattrapé par le service ou la compréhension des gérants (si ce n'est pas à votre goût, c'est votre problème dixit la gérante 👏) Et je suis sûre que même sous ce message ils vont trouver a me remettre la faute dessus, tellement aucune remise en question ne leur paraît juste.
