We were very thankful for the burger meal we had at the Carl’s Burger location in the Marseille Train Station. The train station is a total dump with a roof that leaks just about everywhere in the station. The night we were there it was pouring rain. However, the Carl’s restaurant is clean and dry and a place where you can enjoy a nice meal without getting drenched in a torrential downpour. They also helped us figure out a way to order a gluten free burger option that was very helpful to us. Read moreI was surprised by how good their sauce was. It goes so well with their burger and the nice smokey flavour in the meat also adds some depth to the burger. The burger with fries and a drink is 13 euro which is an okay price. It's not as competitive as some other fast food chains but the food is a bit better I would say. The service though was a seemed to be a bit uninterested. They were definitely not too happy to see me but they were still polite and worked quite efficiently. I ordered at least three different times at the self service machines, sure I must have been making a mistake, the food is at least 30% more expensive than at a McDonald's or Quick, and the quality not any better. In fact the portion size of fries is quite small. Beef burger OK, I would not recommend the chicken, too plastic, felt like reconstituted meat. Also a little pink, which is worrying...
