A complimentary drink that turned into a very bad experience because of the rooftop manager:
We were staying at the hotel and went up to the rooftop to enjoy the complimentary drink that had been left in our room. They were opening for dinner, so we tried to ask if we could sit down. The manager looked straight at us and turned her back to avoid us and immediately started seating people who were lining up.
We asked another waiter, who told us that “the manager had to confirm.” Since she kept ignoring us, we sat down at a table. Then, one of the waitresses came over and told us we couldn’t sit there, that we hadn’t asked the manager (which we had tried to do), and that we could only sit in a separate area with no view.
We went to that area, and right then the manager seated a family at the exact table we had just been told to take. When we said it was meant for us, she looked at us with clear disdain, made the family get up, and finally let us sit down. It was incredibly uncomfortable.
After finishing our drinks, we tried to pay for the extra water, but no one would help us. We insisted multiple times. One waitress, who was just clearing empty tables, told us someone else would come. When we insisted and the manager finally appeared, we overheard the other waitress telling her in French that we were being a pain for her.
The whole situation was ridiculous—snobbish looks, total disorganization, and a complete lack of professionalism. The manager clearly should not be working in a...
Read moreI can’t rate the food or the overall atmosphere, because unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy our evening. We arrived 5 minutes before 7pm ( our reserved time). Then we together with all other people were asked to “wait until it is exactly 7 pm”. We waited for about 15 minutes, the lady started welcoming us in.
There are three areas where you can sit. One main hall inside, huge beautiful terrace, and also smaller area more like in the additional extra room. The lady told us to go to the last one. First issue was that there was no proper ventilation there, there were huge fans on the ceiling but they were turned off, and the air felt quite heavy. The area is fully covered without windows or anything. We asked if it is possible to sit in the main area and told no.
Lastly, while giving us the menu she said SORRY WE DO NOT HAVE ANY PIZZAS TODAY. In my opinion it was the most ridiculous thing that Italian restaurant place can say.
We were going for pizzas, nice cocktail and view from the terrace and got none. 🙃
Views are gorgeous and place looks nice, but the service is really horrible. Can’t wrap it around my...
Read moreCame here for a drink and to enjoy the view. Very poor service (downright rude wait staff): placed our order and were about to receive it when a staff member came by and told us we weren’t allowed to sit at our current table because we didn’t have a reservation — and we couldn’t stay to enjoy our drinks because you can’t have a table unless you order food. I’m not sure how this qualifies as a rooftop bar under these rules when there are only 4 seats at the bar. In any case we were moved to the tiny and cramped bar, and finished our drinks while watching no less than three empty tables for our entire stay. I don’t know whose idea it was to come up with such asinine rules for who can order what and where, but this is not how you treat paying customers. The only reason we didn’t leave in indignation was because our drinks were already prepared and I felt bad for the bartender who would be asked to throw away his hard work. To add insult to injury, the drinks were sub-par. Two stars because we got to enjoy the view for a few minutes before getting unceremoniously booted...
