Used to be the best place for specialty coffee in Marseille. Nowadays, service is arctic cold (if not pretentious) and coffee is average - the espresso machine isn’t cleaned regularly and you can taste it.
Sadly, the lack of care from management is apparent - from the worn down interior to the empty retail shelves, topped by the distant service by a regularly changing team - this is a disappointment.
“Location, location, location” right? Seems like deep relies a little too much on this and stopped caring about their customers’ experience some time ago.
Thankfully, new shops with better experiences are popping up around Marseille - would recommend Les Lumières and Pétrin Couchette.

Read moreI prefer the moist muffin over the dried hazelnut biscuit with slightly moist chocolate and dough. The muffin is moist, rich with generous portions of blueberry. It is delicious. The biscuit feels like it should have been a moist biscuit but it dried up. It does have quite a lot of hazelnuts on top and chocolate chips inside though.
