Amazing Cous cous, everything was very authentic
I recently had the pleasure of eating at La Saveur, Chez Nadia in Marseille, and wow, what an experience! If you're into Arabic food, this place is a must-visit. From the moment you walk in, the cozy and welcoming vibe hits you. It's warm, inviting, and just plain charming. Let's talk about the star of the show: the tajine. It’s seriously amazing. Rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, it’s everything you want a tajine to be. I had the lamb tajine, and the meat was so tender it practically melted in my mouth. The veggies were perfectly cooked and the stew was aromatic and satisfying. But there’s more. The menu is packed with traditional dishes, and everything I tried was delicious. From the fluffy couscous to the fresh salads, every dish was a hit. What really made the experience special was Nadia, the owner. She is the sweetest person and made us feel right at home. Nadia took the time to explain the dishes and share stories about their origins. Her passion for her food and her culture really shines through, making the dining experience even better. If you’re in Marseille, you’ve got to check out La Saveur, Chez Nadia. The amazing tajine, authentic dishes, and Nadia’s wonderful hospitality make it a standout spot. It’s a place where you feel like you’re not just having a meal, but experiencing a piece of Arabic culture. Don’t miss it! Kisses from...
Read moreWe all know the best food is from those small, hole-in-the-wall restaurants operated by one person. Yes the restaurant is kind of in a dark alleyway, but Nadia more than makes up for it with her warm and welcoming personality. I took my friends with me, one of whom is a French reporter. He said it was the best tagine he's ever had and he wants to share her story. I don't know all the details but before she started her business, a man tried her food and was so impressed that he convinced her to start a restaurant together. They partnered up but soon after he bailed so now she runs the business all by herself. Despite the workload the food and service is amazing and will be some of the best Algerian food you can have. Certainly the best food I've had in Marseilles and for a very affordable price. If you're traveling here, I definitely recommend you try this one.
By the way, if you're a vegetarian, she has a vegetarian couscous. It's not on the menu but you just have to ask her for it. That's what I did. It was amazing. The dish my reporter friend had was the lamb tagine with prunes. Apparently it was the best Algerian food...
Read moreProbably one of the most authentic, genuine, tasty, well cooked food establishments I’ve been to in a long time. We had Royal couscous, chicken grilled with chips and salad, drinks and tiramisu takeaway. Nadia was a remains incredibly hospitable, friendly, obliging, and caring. The food was cooked fresh, tasty, my wife enjoyed her chips and chicken, and the couscous was absolutely amazing. Last couscous I tasted like this was in Marrakesh and that wasn’t close to the taste of this one. Cash only so they can keep the cost down, very very cheap, we paid €42 for two meals drinks, and dessert to take away. What are barking considering the quality of the food. Definitely recommend eating in this amazing place and getting...
