La Table du 8ème & son rooftop — Restaurant in Marseille

It’s a shame. We arrived at 8:10pm and were sat promptly. The rooftop is very nice and the food is good but that’s it, the service is awful and the staff and boss/owner just don’t care. Our drinks order was taken before any menu was given (food and/or drink). We then waiting 25 minutes for a Coke Zero and tomato juice (this includes 10 minutes of waiting after asking where the drinks were). When food arrived at 9pm my steak was undercooked and chips were luke warm. My wife’s gnocchi truffle was hot and tasty though. After finishing our food we waited as normal for our plates to be collected and asked about deserts but no one ever came. We waited 25 minutes before we decided to just get up, pay and leave. After being accommodated after a sports game we had a terrible experience here. The food order was confused and what arrived at our table was incorrect. There were numerous breakages around the restaurant by staff adding to the chaos. Worst of all at the end of the meal our bill was grossly incorrect and the manager refused to adjust it. It felt like the staff were actively trying to con tourists after the sports game, hoping to make a quick payout. Came as a group of six for lunch. Food tasted quite good, although us who had a tuna steak had quite an afternoon with digestive problems. Great when flying! We ordered two bottles of wine, did not get a tasting and asked for some water and did not get it for 30 minutes. We asked four times both waiters again, only when I stood up and went to the bar we got it. It is quite annoying when it is hot and you are thirsty and get only wine. I thought in France you always get water with 30€ bottle of wine.

Although the waiter has an earpiece like James Bond, the performance was the worst...
