La taverne — Restaurant in Marseille

They had us waiting for over 40 minutes only to tell us that our food was not coming!!!

We were a large group and placed our order. On top of food, we ordered drinks to be paired with the food we had chosen. Pressed with time, after a long wait we decided to enquire about our food. Then we were told that they had cancelled our order. Appalling. Btw, there were native speakers in our group, so this is definitely not a misunderstanding,but bad service.

We were not compensated in any way. Had to pay for the full price of the drinks, even the ones we hadn't been able to drink.

There were no apologies and barely no kindness. All they said was that the time was too tight. All that time we thought we were getting our food. The tables nearby us, who ordered later, got their dishes but we never did.

A truly disappointing...

I would have loved to go to the beach but since it was raining destiny took me to this dry overpriced crepe hell. Which I guess it’s okey, they must have families to feed (hopefully not with their food). 4 staff members for 5 tables and they didn’t manage to get one thing right (2 crepes and a starter). The egg crepe didn’t have the egg, wrong croquette filling and they forgot the second crepe after 4 reminders, all good cause it came after 1 full hour. Which I guess it’s okey because since we swapped tables from number 114 to 115 cause it was raining it must have affected the chef’s head too. All of this welcomed with the absence of a single smile or apology. Thank god the toilet was dirty!!!! :) hope all goes well for you guys love...

You don’t get to use the “tourists go home” card if your restaurant concept is basically being a tourist trap! Who’s gonna fall for your overpriced crêpes and gnocchi menu if all the tourists do indeed go to the beach like you so nicely wish them to? I can take the blame for sitting down at a restaurant that was clearly going to scam me (it was raining so decisions were made out of desperation), but the rudeness of the staff was just so unnecessary. My French might not be great, but it’s not hard to tell when someone is straight up mocking you....
