Le Pointu — Restaurant in Marseille

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. Apart from its location on a beautiful Marseilles square in the tourist district of the Vieux Port, the food is very average and quite expensive, but above all the behavior of some of the waiters is borderline rude. I remember that the waitress in charge of the table came at my request to list the desserts available and I asked her if they had any of the desserts indicated on the menu that she hadn't listed, to which she replied with the utmost incorrectness and exasperation that "no, I don't have it". It's not so much the fact of not having the dessert in question that I have a problem with, but rather the way in which the waitress takes the liberty of addressing customers without any formality. You get the feeling that this restaurant is used to being swamped by tourists and makes no effort to improve its service. It's a real shame. And I'd like to point out that not all the waiters necessarily behaved in this way, but in general they should be more careful about how they address their customers, because it's a major part of their job and...

It is somewhat regretful that I cannot rate my experience here below 0!! The service was beyond terrible which, to be honest, deserves a negative rating! The waitress gave us an attitude - very rude and impatient. Not sure if this was because we don't speak French.

When this waitress initially came to take orders, we politely asked for a few more minutes to decide. In the meantime, we asked for tap water to start. This waitress replied in broken English. With exclamation, she raised her voice and said, "just water?! You cannot just order water here." We attempted again to explain the fact that we needed a few extra minutes, but she showed us an upset face as if we were all bad-asses. She kept her upset face throughout our dinner.

Recommended only if you want to ruin your evening or date in an otherwise beautiful...

The setting of the restaurant is lovely- in a gorgeous square in a covered area with many plants. Unfortunately my experience was not wholly positive. The waiter, with blond hair and tattoos, was extremely rude. He slammed my beer on the table without announcing what he was doing, and did the same with my pizza. Upon paying he visibly complained in front of me after I checked to see if I had the correct bill. If he is this aggressive and moody, this job is not for him.
