Absolutely impeccable food and service! We came on a Thursday night on September 15. This has been the best restaurant experience I've had in my life. From first entry to leaving, everyone was all hands on deck and very friendly and welcoming. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted. We were immediately provided with our menus and met our server who explained some of the questions I had about the menu. She made a recommendation to me about the wine. Shortly after, a gentleman came with a wine bottle and asked me to taste a sample. He poured it in my wine glass and asked me to let him know if I like it before he continued pouring. I really liked this because it meant that he cared about my experience. We were given 3 complimentary small bites, I didn't know this was a thing here. They were delicious. Our appetizer came split between myself and my partner. We didn't tell them to put it in 2 separate plates, but they just knew to do it! I was very impressed. The food was amazing. Our server checked up on us to see how it was shortly after as well. We had another gentleman walk around with fresh cut bread and give everyone a piece each time as they were eaten. This was also an impressive thing. The rest of the food came out in a timely manner and all the food was amazing. Whenever we finished our drinks, our server would come by and ask us if we'd like another. Everyone was very attentive. Anytime I looked around the restaurant to see if I can get assistance, a staff notices right away and asks if I need anything. It seems like everyone works as a team for each other. When I was looking for the washroom, I asked a staff and she walked me there herself and opened the door for me. I was always received with smiles and warmth. I can't say enough how good this place was. It's a double edged sword now, because I went to another restaurant the next day in Antibes and the difference in service was night and day. I told my partner that this restaurant will make it hard for my future experiences in other restaurants as I don't think any place can beat its service.

It’s the restaurant that deserves all of the stars under the sky but without the pretension of a Michelin star restaurant. We walked in early for our reservation and were greeted quickly and then led to the second floor to have an aperitif before our table was ready. We had a couple of glasses of rose and observed the most beautiful sunset of marseille on the balcony. It was just gorgeous. We were then led to our table and sat indoors. We had hoped for a table on the patio but sadly they were booked, and rightfully so. Right after our order, they offered to move us to a table on the patio with views of the seaside and it was so beautiful and the detail appreciated. It just made our night and experience Our server Adrielle, (I hope I spelled it correctly if not I’m so sorry!) was very attentive and well versed on the menu. We ordered the Mackerel gravalax and the octopus bolognese as our starter. Amazing choices. You wouldn’t think the combination of the octopus and bolognese would be something so delicious but it was perfection. The presentation was beautiful, the flavor 10/10. The mackerel was a lighter more refreshing dish for a starter, with generous portions of the fish. For the main course we ordered the red tuna with peppers. Also delicious, cooked to perfection and rare with wonderful peppers locally sourced and apricots to add a bit of sweetness and tanginess to the dish. I could have had two of them. We finished with the chocolate passion finger dessert which was perfectly sweet but also provided a cool tang from the sorbet. A little added nerdy appreciation I had was the espresso cups, which were from the illy Art Collection. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in France, if not ever. From the people, the service, the views, professionalism and the level of exquisite fine dining, Le Peron was top notch. If you’re in Marseille, this is a must stop. You will not be disappointed.

Mediocre service and food. Exorbitant price, definitely not worth it. - Setting: it's a typical sea view, nothing special. The building is nice enough though the atmosphere is stuffy. The art is terrible. - the service: forgetful with little attention to detail. I asked for an English menu, got a French menu again. Spent 5 minutes reading the wine menu, ordered, then 5 minutes later was told they didn't have it so had to start again. Champagne aperitif order was messed up. We were not allowed outside to the balcony to take a picture together though two other groups did and the staff went out at the end of the night. Not sure why. - amuse bouche : a solid disc of condensed checkpea with some nice flavours but the texture of wallpaper paste. - our entrees looked beautiful but were not good. The mackerel was way too salty and the pressed tomato had not been peeled so the ice cold skins stuck to my mouth again and again. The flavour was ok, the texture was not. I expect more for €30+ each. - mains: the monkfish (€49) was delicious and well presented, but the bouillabaisse (€72!) was so unappetising, lumps of fried fish lost in a puddle of brown sea slurry. See pics. All the subtly of the fish was lost as the "soup" was overpowering. - dessert: rum baba (€15, pictured) was delicious. Worth it. Total: €313 for two
