A hidden gem. Beautiful setting. Bar le Passage is just a wee jaunt off the beaten track which is just how I like it, away from the hustle and bustle of the town, set right next to the beautiful sea inlet to the canal. A perfect setting for some incredible sea food, this place was recommended to us by our French hostess who knew all the best spots, well she certainly delivered here. Set on the sea front, in a quaint little fishermans town, which feels slightly cut off and more personal than the main town it's self. There's no over the top whistles and bells here, just really good sea food, in a beautiful location served with a smile. A well chosen bottle of rose accompanied our sea food too, absolute magic. The non-French speaking tolerance is a little on the low side, so brush up and practice for a smoother ride. Luckily my wife does speak French particularly well so it was smooth sailing for us. An absolute must for a diamond in the rough, away from the norm experience.

We were cycling round the Etang and stopped here for lunch - twice in one week. Friendly and entertaining staff. Good food, lots of seafood and local speciality dishes. Decent beer as well. We got lost on the cycle path due to roadworks and ended up here and we were glad we did. On the second occasion we had a bad experience in the centre of town, I don't think they liked the bikes, so we came back here. Slightly oddly we got a different menu the second time and it appeared to be more expensive, possibly because it was the weekend. They also filled our water bottles for us for the onward journey which is always useful. Thoroughly recommended.
