Last year I would have given this place a five star rating and even beyond. But this year, something is off. The vegetable focaccia, quiche, pizza, madeleines, financiers and the apple tartelette are definitely worth five stars. But… if you order a croissant or a pain au chocolat, they serve you old ones. Last year I had a pain au chocolat and it was the best one I’ve ever had: The multiple layers of buttered puff pastry tasted amazing with a splash of chocolat at the end. But the one I just had is one I could purchase in my home country in the supermarket, and I think that one would taste better than the waste of calories I just had. I can ask myself why they served us old ones this year: because we don’t speak French? We are not native French? Annoyed by speaking three languages at the same time? Il y a souvent des nouveaux produits (pain viennois au potiron, fougasse d'Aigues-Mortes ...) qui donnent envie de revenir très très souvent pour tout goûter ! De nombreux pains spéciaux viennent enrichir les choix classiques de boulangerie.
