Cafe Leon — Restaurant in Montpellier

We recently visited this restaurant and found that the experience did not meet our expectations. The staff seemed to be less accommodating towards non-locals , which made us feel unwelcome. Additionally, the lack of vegan options was disappointing. Despite informing the staff that one of our party would be bringing a vegan meal from elsewhere, we encountered issues. We were seated outside( not inside the restaurant), yet when we began to eat, we were told that eating food from another establishment was not permitted at their tables. Consequently, my friend had to stand and eat his meal just beside the table but not sitting on restaurant chair, which was quite uncomfortable and sad for our group. Furthermore, the service at the end of our meal was less than satisfactory. When paying in cash, we requested a banknote in exchange for our coins, but the cashier returned coins instead and was quite discourteous in their manner. Nous sommes venus avec mon ami à 22h00 tout en nous excusant de cet horaire tardif. On s’installe pour simplement manger et boire un petit coup rapidement, un monsieur visiblement très agacé par notre présence nous demande si nous avions fait un choix. Je demande alors une pièce de bœuf bien cuite, qui s’en suit d’un commentaire de sa part « oh non ASSASSIN » l’air toujours très saoulé Après 1 minute de réflexion je demande l’annulation de la commande Je paie quand même 15€ (car ils ne prennent la carte qu’à partir de ce montant là) alors qu’on avait consommé pour 9€, ça ne fait rien nous voulions juste partir, j’ai donc réglé 15€ 2 minutes passent et le supposé monsieur travaillant dans la restauration vient me disant « il y a un problème mademoiselle » oui évidement qu’il y a un problème, on voudrait juste manger un bout rapidement et repartir Seulement à ma réponse qui était de « oui il y a un problème je n’ai pas de commentaires à recevoir quant à mon souhait de la cuisson de la viande à point » ce à quoi il répond « il faut pas tout mal prendre dans la vie parce que vous avancerez pas sinon » quel délire, et quelle honte surtout Les deux autres personnes sont venues et se sont excusées, tout en me rendant les 15€ Je déconseille fortement, vous serez jugés et aurez des « blagues » de la part de ce monsieur très mal poli, qui commentera tout et n’importe quoi Ne perdez pas votre argent...

The food was very good! I suggest you take the hamhock which was delicious and a big portion! The pulled pork was also nice but a small portion. The raviolie starter with froie gras sauce was delicious but a little small.

The waiters were super nice and charming, they even made pictures for us and of them selves which is a very nice to look back on.

There was a nice ambiance the only thing that was annoying were the scooter driving...
