Absolutely horrible! A complete rip off!
It was clear they didn’t particularly like us, we are a nice group and regular visitors to the town.
We don’t speak fluent French, but we do our best and made it pretty obvious what we wanted.
The order was wrong, they dropped some of my plated items on the floor and didn’t even clear it up. A dog eventually did.
We got given a bucket of ice, glasses, but no actual water. We were given insufficient bread (in a paper bag) for a meats dish, so ended up eating with our fingers.
One of our group blacked out, and needed some help, thankfully some people from another table helped but no one from the restaurant. Didn’t care one bit!!!! They watched the whole thing!
When I went to pay the bill, they didn’t have a clue what we ordered and just charged a stupid overpriced amount. I paid, because it’s easier and I’m on holiday (I will just moan about it on here).
This has got to be the worst place I have EVER visited.
I do regularly visit this area and will make sure my friends (local to the area), never go.
Time for a change, new owners please. The town...
Read moreWhat surprised us was that there were only 3 tables (including ours) occupied.
There was a very nice woman who welcomed and seated us - and who waited till the only woman in the group (my wife) returned to the table to hand us the menus, with my wife being offered the menu first. Very classy.
We had been recommended this restaurant by Sylvain who works at Domaine Saint Hilaire. He told us the food would be good, the setting lovely, and parking would be easy. He was right on all counts.
Once again, they did not have a vegetarian option on the menu but were more than happy to make a vegetarian dish for my wife and she claims it was really very, very good. One son had the meat dish, another a mixed sea food platter and I had the fish. The fish had bones (which I find bothersome) but was tasty.
The desert one of my son's and I had was Creme Brulee and that was spectacular and made up for the slight disappointment with the fish.
It was a very pleasant and relaxed lunch with good food and great...
Read moreBest lunch of the week, and most of the others were very good. Had the "Huitre Gratinee" with the Noilly Prat. the best on France's south coast, excellent and always consistent. Followed with the Seche, at 19Eu one of the cheapest on the menu but again, excellent flavours, one of the best in the area. All that with local Rose, that's as good as anywhere. They have a great cellar so their recommendations are worth listening to. Finished with cheese. As I've been here before so I took a group of 5, they know their cheeses and best advice was to "start from the right". We thought the service was very good, the waitress was very pleasant and helpful as was the other waiters. The proprietors are pleasant and straight forward, after all, you don't go to France if you want to be fawned over. With a location on the edge of the harbour it's a great way to spend...
