We had diner here on 3-8-2023. Our last meal in France, country of qualitatif good food. Well, not at La Taverne, at least not for us. It is almost outrages to call it food and doesn't serve the products they use any honer. See the photo's how it was served. We immediately left after we 'ate' our main dish and didn't want to bother waiting on the ice-cream which was included in the children's menu (2 children) To point out: Until to day all children's menu served chicken 'nuggets' made of fresh chicken with a cereal crust. This place doesn't bother to do so, the steak hache was okay. So a missed opportunity as all other establishments make their own chicken nuggets. Starters: * Tataki of tuna (not Tataki, as it's not shortly burned on the sides and a Thai-saus.... Well, a very French idea of a Thai saus. * Camembert (high lite of the evening, saidly). Main: If you order the specialité than you expect something good. A lot of showmanship by placing a burner on the table, but the wait of our food and the quality of it was the let down. It was their Fish Choucroute for 2 persons á 41 euro. It was blend in taste, the two mini parts Tuna and the other one small part salmon were dry and had no flavour, the 6 clams were shriveled to almost nothing and turned into chewing gum. The squid was chewy and tasteless. The prawns were the best feature although slightly overcooked. And the sauerkraut, well it was a lot and blend in taste. Service: Well, at the desk to welkom us the lady asked. Did you make a reservation. No we did not. The lady was making a point of it, well ohw you should have and rolling with here eyes. And then she said, we only have seats inside, if this is ok. Well it should have been our cue to leave, but we thought she was joking around so we entered. We swiftly ordered our drinks and our meals, but it seemed it was difficult to ask if everything was ok, or to ask if we would like to have another drink while taking away our empty glasses. Other tables received more personal touch and the elder group behind us who were local French people almost gained a show of the owner. At the moment of paying nobody cared to ask if it was an ok experience. Since a long time this French establishment made you feel like a 3 rank tourist. 116 euros down the drain. Goodbye France Update on comment Grande Motte: Dear Stéphan, Thank you for your reply. I don't understand why you say that we ate everything. If you talk about the clams on the photo, you can see on the photo it is shrivled to a peanut and inadable. We send almost everything back from our main dish and did mentioned that the clams were not ok. But there was no service to pick-up our complain. We left before the ice-cream arrived which was included in the kids menu. But I have the feeling it's the same how you react on the reviews. Your reaction give me the feeling that you don't take it seriously and look outside to blame the customer, not to see what you can do better. I wish you well with your establishment. Kind regards, Salvador

Great experience, looks like all the touristy places bit there was excellent quality of mussels, white wines, great advice and selection. The handsome chilly waiter served absolutely professional and we were also very welcomed as families with 3 young kids. Highly recommended
