Rocco et sa mère — Restaurant in Montpellier

We chose to go there based on the ratings so we had a lot of expectations. We arrived first of all and the place was quite noisy which was our bad luck unfortunately. However, we were welcomed with a smile and the receptionist showed us to our table. Then after making up our minds, we had to wait 10 minutes for the waiter to come and take our order. We took a burrata and two pizzas. The burrata was fine nothing too special. As for the pizzas, the tartuffo was way too creamy and truffly it was just too much for the pallet. The da rocco however, has so much potential but unfortunately it felt like I was eating butternut soup on a pizza dough. We ended our meal with a tiramisu that I loved personally (but I had to stand up to catch the waiter’s attention to serve us).

Overall, in my opinion the quantity and quality were fair for the price but the taste...

I flew into Montpellier for work and I came here based on the recommendation of my hotel concierge. A 15 minute walk from the hotel through the city center and my socks were knocked off.

It was just me so I sat at the Chef's Table and had a great view of the kitchen as well as people watching other customers and the great and friendly waitstaff picking up the orders. I speak very, very little French, but everyone spoke English so no worries in that department.

I had been flying all day eating airport food so I wanted something good and simple - spaghetti carbonara (with stracciatella of course). Paired with a glass of the Montepulciano and I was exactly where I wanted to be.

On top of all that....walking through Montpellier to get here? I think this city is for lovers.

Bottom line - if you're in Montpellier you should stop by Rocco et sa mère....

The pizza is good but the service was awful. The attitude of the waiters is disgusting. We were a group of 3 girls and we were not very hungry and we decided to just order 2 pizzas to share them and they told us we are not kids to share food and everybody needs to order his own plate. Then we told them we will order dessert. Then a second waiter comes to treat us as sh*t saying dessert is not a plate but they agree for this time but we cant come for a second time to their restaurant to order like this. We’re shocked and confused, we were never treated like this. After all this, they ignored us for the rest of the time and they didnt even came to pick up the pizza plates and bring the dessert we asked for. Worst service i’ve seen in my life, i wouldnt recommend coming here. For sure I will never...
