Café De La Poste — Restaurant in Mulhouse

Mid September 2025.

Following a recommendation from the Hotel Berlioz I chose Cafe de la Poste to celebrate the end of a long cycle ride (From Rotterdam to Basel). I arrived with an appetite and a mood for self congratulation.

I couldn't have chosen better. After scarfing down a delicious charcuterie starter, I followed up with the comfort of a well made hachis parmentier. How they managed to pair this with the thunderstorm that fell upon the town I'm not sure. The warm glow of the interior with its busy service matched with sweeping rain and electric drama outside. I finished up with an tarte aux pommes and coffee. Excellent food washed down with good beer(s). Great service. As the storm faded towards the east I wobbled back to my hotel happy as a clam.

They don’t serve pasta after 8pm strictly use to say we have only pizza so I think may be their is shortage of staffs as well because 1 waitress and 1 bar guy in the restaurant so implement the availability if you can’t do it then place an board outside of the entrance so that we can see yeah you have only pizza and they don’t serve any thing with pizza like Tabasco,ketchup,oregano and flakes so you have to ask so sorry to giving my feedback but improve the service and food availability in...

In den letzten 2 Jahren war ich einige Male in diesem Restaurant. Die Kundenorientierung war meistens der Schwachpunkt. In den meisten Fällen musste man recht lange auf die Bedienung und dann auf das Essen warten (manchmal bis 1 insg. Stunde). Keine der Bedienungsangestellten konnte/wollte deutsch sprechen, obwohl ein wesentlicher Teil der Gäste aus der deutschsprachigen Schweiz kommt. Mein Eindruck war oft, dass die Bedienungsdame(n) schlechte Laune waren, man fühlt sich nicht willkommen. Mein letzter Besuch war aus folgenden Gründen enttäuschend: 20 Minuten Wartezeit bis die Bedienung zum ersten Mal erschien Schweppes Tonic bestellt, Finley gebracht: schlechtere Qualität, kleinere Flasche, gleicher Preis Getränk wortlos auf die Ecke des Tisches "geknallt". Hier erwarte ich von der Bedienung dass das Getränk vorsichtig in die Mitte des Tisches gestellt wird, das Glas gefüllt wird und "Zum Wohl" gesagt wird. kein Salz und Pfeffer auf dem Tisch. Hier erwarte ich dass diese spätestens mit dem Essen mitgebracht werden. es wurde nicht gefragt ob das Essen geschmeckt hat. Der Lärmpegel ist (für CH/D Verhältnisse) hoch. Die Preise sind höher als in Deutschland, aber niedriger als in der Schweiz. Bekannte elsässische Spezialitäten wie z.B. Choucroute und Bäckeroffe werden nicht...
