Copains comme Cochon — Restaurant in Nîmes

Just a strange experience. My hotel had recommended this restaurant and made the rezo. I was nicely greeted on arrival and seated then things went sideways. For the next 30 minutes, I saw a small bowl of olives placed on my table but nothing else. No menu, water, nada. The fellow who greeted me seemed to be doing most of the serving himself and seemed totally oblivious to the fact that I and two or three other tables were just sitting there waiting while he chatted away to a few other tables of ... friends, I guess ...who had finished their meals and were sitting over dessert and coffee. One of these, a couple beside me, were wondering what was up too.

I left and went next door to Comptoir 7. Even though they were nearly full, lovely woman at front found me a table for a very good meal. Copains might indeed have good food too but one can't really tell based on...

This restaurant is fantastic! We had a dinner of many snacks so-to-speak, but I enjoy that type of thing. We ate delicious fresh oysters, shrimp, steak tartare with egg yolk and Worcestershire sauce, a charcuterie board with cheese and figs, and a mozzarella and tomato salad. We were hungry!! Dessert was a wonderful chocolate mouse. I highly recommend this place, especially if you’re hungry after biking around the nearby vineyards. Their wine selection is local and tasty, as well. If you’re looking for a place with more traditional dinner plates, then I highly recommend this restaurant for lunch/a late afternoon sip and nibble! Au détour d une visite d Uzes un mardi de marché nocturne après de multiples déambulations dans les charmantes ruelles pour le plaisir des yeux, nous avons découvert ce petit restaurant.. la terrasse était complète qu a cela ne tienne la très souriante serveuse nous accueille avec notre compagnon à 4 pattes et la démarre un très agréable voyage culinaire.. du Risotto au chorizo plein de finesse et de saveur à l assiette jambon pêche burratta (fraicheur et saveur des produits idéale après une chaude journée estivale). Bien que rassasiés nous n avons pu résister à un dessert (pavlova quand tu nous tiens, mais la gourmandise est elle un péché quand le dessert est si bon). Bref après les yeux, les papilles se sont régalées... et comme si l excellence du menu ne suffisait pas elle s accompagne du sourire, de la gentillesse et du conseil des serveurs en un mot comme en cent ce restaurant est à faire et à refaire.. mention spécial de notre petit chien pour Paola sa gentillesse et son petit bout...
