La Table D'Uzès — Restaurant in Nîmes

I really wanted to like this place. It is a beautiful setting, with views of the cathedral and a rising moon. We also had a perfect summer night, having cooled off from the hot summer day. We chose the six course “journey”. The pacing of the night was off completely. We started at 7:45 and the meal took 3.5 hours. And then I waited another 20+ minutes just to pay. The service was tentative all night. We had to ask for water refills and bread to mop up the sauces. The meal was just ok in my opinion (by Michelin expectations). For three of us it was $600 and I did not have a single Wow moment. Not for presentation, nor for flavors. The courses felt a bit repetitive — several ice cream style quenelles (worked for the hot summer but not innovative). Most of the time the flavors were solid but not wow. Didn’t think it was better than other restaurants in Uzes where we have enjoyed lunches and dinners and great friendly services. An absolute gem. The flavors were nothing short of incredible—every dish, even something as simple as chickpeas, was transformed into something bold and unforgettable. Amazing French Cuisine! We had a perfect evening with high end food and spend 3 hours eating there. For sure this is not a low budget restaurant, but it’s worth it! Our blind menu has been served by great waiters and a special sommelier. We even got the change to visit the kitchen and see how the chefs are preparing the delicious food.
