La Gentilhommière - Nancy — Restaurant in Nancy

We recently dined at La Gentilhommiere and had a mixed experience. While the service was outstanding, with our server being incredibly attentive and charming, the food left much to be desired.

It took a frustrating 1.5 hours for my meal to arrive, especially since I didn’t order a starter. When my steak finally came, it was disappointingly chewy and lacked any sides—despite being on a keto diet and requesting vegetables. I ended up drinking champagne on an empty stomach, which didn't help the situation.

While I did eventually receive some vegetables after I finished my steak, it felt like too little, too late.

Overall, the service was the highlight of the evening, and I truly appreciated our adorable waiter who did his best to make our experience enjoyable. However, the long wait and subpar food quality, particularly the steak, made this visit less than ideal. I hope they can improve their food timing and quality...

I visited the restaurant because the owner is a good friend of our family so we were lucky enough to get served by him. He's a lovely person with good humor with a good taste in food and drinks. I believe he knows what he is doing, familiar in the kitchen. The food? We liked it very much it was really interesting some combos I've never tried and well made. The atmosphere is calm and nice. Very good place if you want to enjoy a night with your family or celebrate! Recommend...

Amazing service and top quality local French cuisine! Exactly what we were looking for on a cold winters day. A warm welcome from friendly staff and a cosy elegant vibe. Good value for money, I had the steak which had a divine bearnaise sauce maybe the best I've ever had! but I had food envy for the cod which was recommended by the waiter. I will be back again to try it next time as the portion size was huge and the cod looked so fresh...
