Hands Down the Best Bakery We’ve Ever Tried
Boulangerie by Michel Fiori is, without exaggeration, the best bakery I’ve ever been to — with the most delicious pastries I’ve ever tasted. We spent nine days in Nice, and on our second day we discovered this place… after that, we came back every single morning (except Sunday, when it was closed — and yes, we were genuinely devastated to have to eat breakfast elsewhere 😄).
We tried their quiches — one with spinach, peppers or maybe tomato (we’re not sure, but it doesn’t matter because every version was amazing) — and another with bacon, which was equally delicious. We also had their savory croissants filled with ham and cheese, and they were absolute perfection. You could really taste the buttery dough, and they’re very generous with the fillings — nothing felt dry or skimpy. Everything was just so well-balanced and flavorful.
My favorite part of breakfast? Their sweet croissants. They offer a variety of flavors, and my personal favorite was the Nutella croissant — soft, flaky, and rich. We also tried the raspberry, bisquit and pistachio ones — all were flawless.
There’s often a line outside, but it’s absolutely worth the wait. If you’re in Nice, do yourself a favor and go. This place is...
Read moreThe pastries were really good and affordable, I wish I visited more often during my visit as there were more I wanted to try. Definitely get there early to avoid queues (even though queues do go quick) and availability of certain breads.
During my stay I had the regular croissant, the chocolate creme croissant which was SUPER loaded with a hazelnut chocolate filling, the suisse, the pain au hazelnut and pistachio (not really sure if that is what it is called), the matcha creme croissant and ham and cheese pastry.
I personally recommend the suisse, chocolate creme croissant if you have a sweet tooth and the ham and cheese pastry heated up with a cup of hot chocolate.
They all tasted good and super fresh if you get in early. I also tried their latte and hot chocolate it was really good! The prices were pretty affordable starting under 2 euros.
The staff were super friendly too. Definitely recommend if you visit Nice.
I would come back to nice just to eat...
Read moreThis bakery is extremely popular, so expect it to be very busy with service that can feel a bit slow. The process could definitely be more efficient, though they do keep baking fresh goods throughout the day since everything sells out so quickly. The silver lining is that their pastries are well worth the wait—especially the croissants and cookies.
The croissant is hands down the best I’ve ever had, with a perfectly crispy shell and distinct, airy layers inside that give it incredible depth of flavor. Every bite is simply outstanding. I especially loved the passion fruit and raspberry versions. The pistachio one was less impressive, as it had plain cream inside rather than pistachio cream, which was a bit disappointing. The cookie, however, was excellent. Coffee was also decent, though nothing remarkable.
Overall, come prepared to wait in line, and since seating is very limited, takeaway is usually the...
