I unfortunately didn’t have an experience that aligns with many of the reviews here.
I picked this cafe due to the reviews saying it would be a good space to work and the Google page saying it was laptop friendly with WiFi. I needed to get an hour or two of work done on a weekday and came specifically to sit in their upstairs area, have a meal, and work. Upon coming in they told me they closed the upstairs area (they didn’t specify if it was just that day or indefinitely). So I sat at a table in a little corner with only one chair, thinking this would still be fine as I’d be out of their way. I open my laptop and see the wifi (named the same as the restaurant). I asked staff for the password and was told there was no wifi. I was pretty bummed by the short, unhelpful nature of the staff despite there being several people on duty standing around. Most of my interactions were with a stout man with a shorter haircut. They were all decently polite but I definitely had the feeling that they may just have been feeling lazy this day as he commonly was just standing around or chatting with friends (not other coworkers, at one point someone who was clearly his friend came in and they loudly chatted in the middle of the small cafe space).
Where Cafe Fino redeemed themselves was the food and beverage. I had the iced strawberry matcha latte and it was FABULOUS! The salmon avocado tartine also did not disappoint, with many dots of a lovely crème based sauce, radishes, and pickled onions, the flavor was so balanced and unique.
All in all I might still come back for the food but I was hoping to make this a regular spot to come and take care of some emails while brunching on weekday mornings and the fact that the staff was short and unhelpful along with misrepresentation of their amenities makes this hope,...
Read moreAbsolutely overrated and pretentious, I have no idea who posts these glowing reviews. Thumbs up to the staff, they were friendly, and the food was okay—though pricey for what you get. The experience started off pretty poorly: they had us and others waiting in a fake line to make it seem busy and attractive to passers-by. When they finally let us in after a strangely short wait, there was at least 1 table on the main floor and several tables on the first floor completely empty! Only one couple left during that time, so there's no way it was that busy. The room decor and furniture try to be trendy but completely lack style - it felt very uncomfortable as a whole. The service was friendly but slow (our drinks arrived long after the food—maybe it was the kitchen's fault?). If you don't mind paying €9 for a carelessly arranged scrambled egg like the one in the photo, then go ahead (telling from older photos of the menu they even raised their prices). We definitely prefer one of the many better options in Nice and won't...
Read moreThis cafe seems to have prioritized its Instagram appeal over actual customer experience. While it looks fancy at first glance, a closer look reveals numerous issues:
Ambience: The decor is clearly designed for social media photos, but fails to provide a comfortable dining environment.
Maintenance: Water was literally dripping from the ceiling onto our table. This is unacceptable.
Facilities: The bathroom door doesn't lock properly and swings open on its own. So much for privacy!
Service: The staff's behavior was oddly off-putting, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere.
Coffee: Surprisingly mediocre for a place that presents itself as a high-end cafe.
Food: The only saving grace was a tasty croissant, but one good item doesn't salvage the overall experience.
It's clear that more effort has gone into creating a picture-perfect setting than ensuring basic comfort and quality. The contrast between the polished appearance and the subpar...
