Great food, but shocking service
We visited this restaurant for dinner last week. Overall, we were happy with our experience and adding extra service fee in the final bill. However, the service took a shocking turn when it came time to pay.
As I was about to pay with my credit card, the male waiter took my card away and processed the payment himself. Not feeling comfortable with someone else handling my card, I politely asked for it back. Instead of returning it to me, he demanded that I sign the receipt first and then threw my card on the table. This level of rudeness was beyond anything I’ve ever encountered in a restaurant.
For whatever reason the waiter behaved this way, it was completely unacceptable. If basic respect for customers is difficult to maintain, perhaps the hospitality industry is not the place to be.
Again, the food was great, but please—treat your customers with kindness, we are all here trying to have a great time, not to worry about upsetting a waiter and getting treated with...
Read moreWe were delighted with the selection of small Japanese dishes offering a wide array of flavors. We started with Edamame that were cooked al dente and served with just the right amount of salt. Then we went on with a couple of "Legumes de ma Maman" which came in the form of two small salads, one savory of seaweed and the other one sweet combination of radishes. The menu changes everyday depending on what the chef, Kanako, finds in the market. We went for a sashimi of daurade combined with sweet slices of mandarines that amplified the taste of the raw fish. Then came a delicious mackerel sushi. Desserts options are typically limited in a Japanese restaurant. We were delighted to discover a very light Cheesecake and a rich chocolate cake. This review does not do justice to the wide range of options in the menu. We wished we could have experimented with the Camembert tempura or the simple home made curry. There will have to be another time. Service with competent, efficient...
Read moreHad a fantastic meal here on our first evening in Nice. Food was amazing and reasonably priced, alongside a superb drink selection (especially Sake). We had 6 dishes and couldn't fault any. The aubergine in dashi broth was a stand-out.
Special mention to the staff. We booked for 7pm via Instagram, however our flight was delayed by 4 hours so we weren't going to make that reservation. They were massively accomodating and said they'd hold the table and wait for us, even if it was 9pm before we arrived.
The place has a family feel and you could tell how much the staff enjoyed their work. Would return again no...
