L'Atelier — Restaurant in Nice

Visited in December 2023. Service was so ridiculously slow. There were only 3 or 4 tables being served that night, and we ordered the tasting menu with fewer dishes than our neighboring table. We arrived an hour before them but finished around the same time because a single chef in the kitchen was preparing the same dishes for the entire restaurant at the same time. We had to wait for our next dish until the neighboring table had finished another 2-3 dishes.

The food was also very mediocre. The dessert was hyped up as being a special menu item for today, but it was a sad bowl of green jello and meringue.

Perfect first meal in Nice! Had a great experience - they must have updated the space based on past reviews because the atmosphere was lovely and intimate with comfortable, classic seating.

Highly recommend the chef's tasting menu where each dish is a surprise and delicious. It allowed our group to try foods we would normally avoid and loved them. We loved guessing the ingredients with our server who was great.

There was only one server and one chef but the dishes were well paced and we appreciated the space to enjoy a good meal without feeling rushed.

Prices felt very fair for quality and quantity of food. Will definitely return when...

Great experience is my short opinion.

I walked into this restaurant based on Michelins guide with no expectations. I chose the “work your magic” kinda choice, which basically you let the chef work something up for you, and you just tell them your dietary restrictions. The most phenomenal thing was the food . The blend of ingredients just roars in the background- what your eyes see doesn’t necessarily reflect the taste

This chef is talented for sure!

I had to guess with the waiter the ingredients!

My only drawback was on the fact that the cook doesn’t match the seatings/atmosphere.

Nonetheless if I ever come back to Nice I will...
