La Trattoria — Restaurant in Nice

I will never visit this establishment again. We thought it was a cute place and decided to stop in for some drinks. The tall bald man server was so rude to us and yelled at us that we needed to order two entrees. Can you not just order drinks? We were not even hungry but said we could get an appetizer. Again the rude server yelled no and that we HAD to order one entrée per person. What a waste of money. I would have been happy to quickly drink my wine and get out of there but it was a weird situation. He made us feel like we were going to get in trouble and we didn't want in problems in a foreign country. Never in my life have I been forced to order. I took a few bites of my food and then threw away the leftovers. This is the only place in France where I experienced rude staff. I tell everyone I know to avoid this place. The food wasn't even that good. Nothing you cant get at any other Italian restaurant. Just like my leftovers this place is trash. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere...

We went to this restaurant while celebrating my birthday in menton. Given the wonderful reviews we were really excited to try it, and while the food was great, the service was extremely disappointing. We had intended to order appetizers, a main, and a dessert, but after being seated it took over 27 minutes for us to be asked our drink order. Because of this we figured it better to just order our dinner as we had plans after. Servers kept passing us by and one person greeted us but no one even offered water. After finally taking our drink orders everything felt very rushed, no one asked any questions about the meal or any other general forms of customer service. It felt as though we were a bother. While the food was excellent, the quality of the service made it difficult to enjoy. We do hope to have a better customer service experience upon...

A wonderful Italian restaurant just off the waterfront. If you're looking for a seaview then this isn't for you, but if you want fantastic Italian food, then check it out!

We arrived late for lunch and were seated quickly. Our waiter welcomed us with a big smile and was extremely attentive and chatty throughout the meal. I had the Penne Allo Scoglio which was absolutely delicious - a house special according to our waiter. My partner had Spaghetti Carbonara made with fresh pasta of course. We had a glass of Italian sauvignon and a complimentary amaretto at the end of the meal.

It's very well priced at Euro 66 for two people, friendly and attentive service and delicious food. What's not to like?! I highly reccommend...
