Le Comptoir — Restaurant in Nice

This was our first restaurant visit in our Monaco weekend and everything about it was wonderful. Nice crowd, great friendly service and excellent food. We shared the prawn and chorizo risotto for dinner, and our starters were an heirloom tomato career salad and beef carpaccio. A little gem in monaco run by a lovely couple. The food was so fresh and great. The restaurant is small and the service is really top. They also offer you a cup of very delicious olives. I ordered the octopus salad that was really filled with octopus and tasted great. The tuna tartare was heavenly I had to comeback the second day to reorder it. Will surely come back whenever...

Una cena in questo piccolo bistrot situato a Cap d’Ail a pochi passi dal “confine” col principato di Monaco. L’ambiente vuole richiamare quello di un bistrot, e in parte ci riesce, anche se qualche pezzo dell’arredamento è un po’ fuori linea con questa impostazione. Molto valida l’offerta gastronomica che poggia principalmente su materie prime di ottima qualità e ben preparate. Noi abbiamo mangiato un piatto di foie gras della casa, davvero ben preparato, con una deliziosa confettura di cipolle. Il secondo è stato a base di carne: per me una tartare con asparagi e tartufo nero. Ottimo piatto. Mentre la mia fidanzata ha preso del filetto di vitello con cipolle e patate. Molto buono. Il dolce, un sufflè al cioccolato, era invece un po’ pesantino. La carta dei vini mi è sembrata equilibrata, con ricarichi, presumo, adeguati per la zona, ma per la mia percezione piuttosto alti. Il vino che abbiamo bevuto noi, un uvaggio di Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon e Cinsault prodotto da Henry Milan non mi ha fatto per nulla...
