Roberto Falvo Bistrot — Restaurant in Nice

The reviews on here are really conflicting. Many 5s and many 1s. I fall squarely in the 5 star category.

Walked in... 7:30 pm on a Monday and was immediately seated. The waiter was friendly and accommodating.

The chef / owner came to the table and personally reviewed the menu offerings and trying hard to communicate in English. Sure there were some communication barriers, but it was no problem at all and was even a little enjoyable to communicate with him.

The food was great all around. I questioned a few ingredients and Roberto lighted up and was eager to share his technique and methods.

This is a very small spot with a hands-on chef who is proud of his dishes and with good reason. Yes- perhaps his English can be improved... but the same can be said about my Italian and French. If you get frustrated over language and wait times and walk away... this...

One of the best restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of eating at in my life.

We visited Roberto Falvo Bistrot on our third day of our trip and returned every following day. While there was a language barrier (seeing as we couldn’t speak Italian or French) Paola was extremely friendly and all of the staff were very helpful.

Though we couldn’t really understand the menu (which changes daily), we soon realised that it didn’t matter since everything and anything we ordered was absolutely delectable.

Our dining experience always commenced with the most amazing foccacia. Throughout our trip we ordered an array of dishes, each matching in deliciousness.

I truly couldn’t recommend this place enough and will undoubtedly return...

Very strange and unwelcoming interaction. We walked up to the restaurant, clearly open (table cloths, settings, doors open), but were told that they were closed. Now this 10 minutes past 7P on a Friday night. Very, very unfriendly female maître d' and certainly a patsy, goofy male companion. Later, as we were having dinner just 40 meters away (at a very nice and friendly French restaurant) we could see people sitting at the restaurant and people being seated. Maybe it was a mis-communication, as in no more reservations? But, as a foreigner, there was something very wrong was the entire situation. I would not recommend this...
