Mattera Boulangerie — Restaurant in Nice

A good place to get a breakfast. The pastries are good, the coffee is decent , but the service is kind of ok - a bit disorganized. Because of it, the lines get fairly long over a short period of time.

You’d order in one place of the store and pick your order in another; and you better make sure you get what you ordered. For me, once, the forgot my water - I had to remind them. Another time, there weren’t sure what coffee I ordered. I tried to explain but not sure I got through to them. Other than that, the staff is mostly nice and happy to take...

Employees are quite smiling, helpful and welcoming people. They took 15 minutes to explain to an old lady that she needs to pay first, in a kind way without showing any frustration, in front of my eyes. Most probably she didn't understand French at all and they tried different ways to communicate and finally they managed. Apart from that, i had coffee with an apricot croissant. I am a tourist and visited the shop on 20 May for a quick order for breakfast before boarding train towards Nice Airport.

To my disappointment, upon reaching Nice Airport and drinking the hot chocolate, all I tasted was WATER. Opened the cup and realised- gosh, there's no cocoa powder at all, it was just milky water. It was too late for me to return to seek a new cup or even refund.

Very upset that I've paid not a watery drink that I've to throw away.
