I visited the restaurant with my husband and our two boys. I noticed 4 groups including ours. It seemed the only server was a young girl. After we finished our appetizers, our server came to clear our plates. She said you can keep your silverware. Usually you would get new utensils, but ok not a big deal. Then she brought out the entrees, my one son ordered the soup. We wanted to share the 3 dishes, and asked our server for plates. She said oh we donât have anymore plates. What?! Only four groups and the restaurant is not even full and they are out of plates? How does this make any sense? I have never been told at a restaurant sorry but we are out of plates. I told her well you should have told us first before taking our plates away. We need plates. So she said let me check. And returned with three bowls. And apologized for only being able to give us three. Luckily my son had the bowl he used from his soup. We were so stunned and it spoiled our experience. The food was good, but I canât say the same for the service. I am not sure if she was overwhelmed and maybe lacked some training. She never checked on us the entire time to see if we wanted to order more drinks or if we needed anything. It really put a damper on our dinner. We just wanted to leave quickly. So we got the check and left right after paying. I was really hoping for an amazing experience.
To your response owner:
My boys are 31 and 25 years old, theyâre grown men. There was no shouting going on at our table. You have the wrong group! We were seated inside next to two ladies. Your establishment was not busy at all. The service was subpar, and you should do better with training your young server. We dine out frequently and know how to conduct ourselves accordingly. I noticed you completely ignored the issues that were brought up about your server stating there were no plates and her lack of service....
Read morePavillon d'Angkor is a classic hidden gem in the heart of Nice. From start to finish our dinner was excellent. The owner was a pleasure to talk with explaining the background of the restaurant and the menu. We ordered the Vegetable Gyoza, Chicken Crispy Bowl, and the Shrimp and Beetroot Salad along with some Angkor beers (which we had not had since visiting Cambodia years ago). The dishes were all cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful.
We enjoyed the dinner so much we decided to visit Pavillon d'Angkor again during our 5 day stay in Nice. And once again, the dinner was excellent! Shortly after being seated, the owner gave us both a complimentary drink. It tasted wonderful and was very refreshing. We only wished he had given us a carafe of it :-) We ordered the Karry Chicken and the Dragon Bowl and both were outstanding.
The owner has a passion for his restaurant and an attention to detail that results in a great dining experience. We highly recommend Pavillon d'Angkor for a high quality, yet unpretentious...
Read moreThis is a nice little Asian fusion restaurant in the area. They have a good variety of Asian style foods with different twists. We had crunchy beef meatballs, crispy chicken, monkfish, and mango sticky rice. The crunchy beef meatballs were good, and the flavors were quite nice and paired pretty good with the sweet chili sauce dip. The crunchy chicken was decent, but the rice was a tad bit dry. The flavor of the chicken was spot on. The monkfish dish was very good. The mango sticky rice was ok. The black rice was a nice flavor, but the rice itself was a bit hard. The service was excellent, and we really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. Overall, I feel it is worth a try if you are in the area looking...
