When I walked into this little mom n pop neighborhood pizzeria on the Cote d’ Azur and ordered my pizza the chef quickly said “it’ll be ready in 30 minutes”. It was worth the wait. I took a seat inside at a small table to drink a beer I bought across the street and waited for my pie. Tomato, mozzarella, peppers, ham, mushrooms- the works. A local sat down across from me with his beer and we started to chat with the help of Google Translate. The chef, Stefan, his smiling waiter and the local guy- we had a lot of laughs. Especially making fun of my bad French accent. I said my goodbyes and headed home and devoured what was probably the best pizza I’ve had in a long time. The crust I had just the right blend of crispy and chewy. Tomato sauce, obviously homemade, good mozzarella, perfectly cooked peppers, and he was generous with all of the other ingredients. Read moreI was expecting something lower quality because of how affordable it was. I spent about 30 minutes searching Google for an authentic Italian-style pizza place that wouldn’t break the bank — and I’m so glad I found Pizza d’Or!
I’m from Canada, and this is by far the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life. The quality of the cheese and the depth of flavor were incredible. There was even some kind of nut topping that I couldn’t quite identify, but it added a delicious and unique touch. Being so close to the Italian border, and given this region’s Italian roots, you can truly taste the authenticity.
They also carefully followed my allergy notes, which I deeply appreciate. I ordered through Uber Eats, and surprisingly, it ended up being about €10 cheaper than ordering delivery directly through their website.
Hands down, this beats any artisanal pizza restaurant I’ve tried in BC or Ontario, Canada....
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of trying the pizza from Pizza D’or, and I must say, it was absolutely fantastic! From the first bite, I knew that this was not your average pizza. The crust was perfectly crispy and had a satisfying chewiness to it, while the sauce was tangy and richly flavorful without being overpowering.
The toppings were generous and of good quality. I ordered the pecheur, and the combination of seafood and sauces was a true masterpiece. Each ingredient worked together harmoniously to create a symphony of flavors that danced on my taste buds.
One thing that stood out to me was the attention to detail that went into each pizza. It was clear that the cook took great care in crafting our pizzas to perfection, and it showed in the final product. The pizza arrived hot and fresh, with the cheese perfectly melted and the toppings evenly...
