Incredible! We found Racines Bruno Cirino on the Michelin website and planned a dinner for our trip to Nice, and it was without a doubt, one of the highlights of our vacation. The meal was simply incredible - the food was not just a work of art, but it completely reframed what we knew could be done with a vegetarian approach to haute cuisine. The ingredients were varied and creatively prepared, the plating was magnificent, and the wine pairings were spot on. The service was also wonderful, with the servers being sufficiently fluent in English to be able explain to us the provenance of the ingredients and the wines. Many of the vegetables used for the dinner were grown in gardens owned by the chefs, including one in Eze.
As a Michelin-starred restaurant, it was almost impossible to believe that we could have a comprehensive menu for 75EUR, but there you have it. An incredible value. A couple of things of note, however: the menu is truly comprehensive, so pace yourself and allow sufficient time for your experience. Our meal took about 4 hours. Second, it is a very substantial meal. In fact, we found at the second-to-the-last course (the 2nd of 3 sweet courses), that we had reached our limits and ended up having to bring the final dessert home with us. So either go hungry (but then pace yourself), or sample things but don't necessarily eat every bite on the plate. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor, to the point that even my husband, a self-proclaimed vegetable hater, loved everything that came to the table. The kitchen also handled his gluten allergy seamlessly. We ended up staying for nearly five hours, savoring drinks, conversation, and each beautifully crafted course. Read moreI loved it so much. Every dish was amazing and I really appreciated how a local vegetable was the star of each plate and how well the servers explained the sourcing and preparation. The mashed potatoes and mushrooms and peas were the best I've ever had and the peach with rose glaze was so good I couldn't stop until I ate the whole thing. The servers were so nice and so fast and even with how fast they were the meal still took 3 hours because they give you so much food and it's all so beautiful you want to take pictures and savor each bite.
