It’s difficult to believe we dined at the same restaurant as some of the other reviews. It was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. There was nothing positive about it. It started on our arrival where we were seated but then received no service. After some time we had to catch the attention of one of the waiters [who was inside mucking around with the other waiter] in order to get menus. No water was offered at any point. I ordered the calamari which was the worst Calamari I’ve ever had - small pieces mostly consisting of the coating with some stodgy chips. My wife ordered the beef steak - the waiter buggered off before she could even state how she wanted it done - and it came back overcooked and tough. It was accompanied by a lettuce salad which was dry and brown. The waiter even tried to open a bottle of wine when I’d asked for a glass. The whole experience was a farce. The photos posted of the food purported to be from this restaurant do not bear any resemblance to reality. Do...
Read moreI’ve been visiting Vin sur 20 for years, and it never disappoints! The staff are always so friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The interior is warm and cosy, and they have a lovely covered terrace for outdoor dining, which is perfect in any season.
The food is outstanding and reasonably priced. I had the Italian ham to start, which was a great choice, followed by a delicious goat cheese salad with dried fruits. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and everything was fresh and well-prepared. They also offer a great selection of wines and beers, which pair perfectly with the meal.
What really sets this place apart is the consistency. Every time I visit, I see the same friendly faces behind the counter, making it feel like a place you can trust to deliver great food and service every time. Highly recommended if you’re...
Read moreQuite a bizarre experience. The servers were very friendly and personable with other patrons, but curt and indifferent from the moment we sat down (one gentleman I'd describe as almost stern). We did nothing differently from other patrons, though we were clearly foreigners. Not sure if that was the reason. This was the only place in Nice where we had this type of reception.
We were originally planning on enjoying the ambiance, but instead we quickly and quietly ate our food and left.
Service was slow but on the positive side the food arrived quickly. They brought water glasses but no water. Frites were soggy and oily, quite undercooked. Mojito was utterly undrinkable (a heavy synthetic taste with strong notes of chlorinated tap water).
The tiramisu, however, was excellent. Wine was fine.
Overall, an extremely puzzling...
