L'Autre Jardin — Restaurant in Pamiers

Walk 100 meters outside the hyper tourisitic center and enter this magic garden resturant. It's intimate calm and relaxing.

The food was an excellent mix of classic and oriental cusine. We loved The pouched and Fried egg that was served on a prmesan cream. The sushi was fresh and light and came with a delicate miso soup. The main dish was a sweet and sauer chinese style bowl chicken + Veggis + rice. This is a "special occasion" restaurant, and it exceeded expectations. The menu is not extensive; the chef focuses on making his offerings superb instead. A very gentile welcome and attentive service throughout. We were looking for, and found, characteristic Ariègeois (not the breed of dog, the departement) cuisine, and there it was. Crisp spring salads artfully presented, poisson du moment on perfect rissotto, perfectly crisp guinea hen (pintade). After choosing our dinners, we were shown to the wine cave to select our bottle from a distinguished cellar of local wines....

This place deserves to be rammed. We had the best meal we've had so far on this visit to France. Small menu of Asian fusion food. Excellent tempura prawns and salmon sashimi starter. Fabulous stir fried pork. Great  poke bowls of cereals, fish, vegetables and grilled vegetables, parmesan, boiled egg, bigorre black, plus a special for Victoria who has some allergies. Good panacotta and ice cream. Nice Malapere red. All this in a lovely garden. Looked into the interior and that's nice too. Excellent, friendly, helpful service. Reasonable value at €105. Go....
